quite possibly the best third party game out for the wii and it's getting no publicity or push.

you're travis touchdown (great name, huh?) and you've been invited to compete to be the number 1 assassin after your last target turned out to be #11 on the list. you battle up the list encountering memorable characters along the way fighting to be the top assassin. plot twists, nerd jokes, and plenty of blood and video game references abound.

this game is kill bill style hack violence of cutting your enemies in half while they scream "ow my spleen!"

and of course like most other games, you can find videos on youtube of all the boss battles. i'd definitely recommend checking out a couple of those to really whet your taste to get this game.

It's fun but the graphics is really crappy imho. I started playing this game after finishing MGS4 on PS3 so maybe my judgment is biased by the unfair confrontation, but also compared to other Wii games the graphics of NMH is really poor to me. Total lack of definition, pixels flying everywhere, maybe I got a faulty copy but this seems pretty unlikely since I boughy the game brand new and sealed. So, bottom line, fun but a pain for the eyes.

I actualy rather enjoyed the graphics. They were definitely a like it or hate it type thing, though. While the game is good, it does get repetitive, and it gets there fast. Thats probably the only mark I can give against it.

plenty of blood

It should be noted this is only true in the US version of the game. In other countries like the UK and Japan the game is highly edited, and the blood is turned into what looks like pixie dust.

Luckily, I live in the US so I got the good stuff. ^_^

Anyways, No More Heroes is one of my favorite games, and definitely a must have for Wii owners. It's unique, quirky, and just plain fun. It's a very underrated game.

"My Spleen!"
Never gets old. Very fun game as well. Particularly the Boss fights. I'm a UK-er, so I have the gore-less version, but it's still pretty satisfying.
Also, Bad Girl is one of the greatest videogame characters ever.
There's a sequel due for early 2010, which I'm looking forward to.
Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill are both very good third part games for the Wii, as well. To be honest, those are the only decent games I can think of for the Wii from the past year. The rest have been lazy, ports, minigames, or just plain terrible, all milking the casual cash cow (As you can tell, I think Nintendo have completely screwed their fans over. They're making more money selling bathroom scales, terrible MIDI synthesizers and minigames rather than actual games, and third-party developers are just so lazy it's pathetic.)

No More Heroes is a game where it has so many things that I like that it seems like it was designed to appeal to me. Only other game that's felt like that was Earthbound on the SNES. It's a great game and I'm counting down to 2010 for the sequel.

I've got it, beaten it, and loved it. The lead character is almost entirely relatable (other than his behavior around women), the combat is fun, and it doesn't outstay its welcome. Plus, it's just 20 bucks.
