I know this sounds like a very odd/random question, but were you considered to be handsome or cute when you were a kid? The reason I am asking this is that autistic children are often considered to be especially attractive looking. Researchers have speculated that this may be because our heads were larger than average among other things.

I remember I got a lot of comments like that when my mom would take me on errands with her. That's probably normal with all kids, though.

I had alot of comments from adults when I was a kid, saying how beautiful I looked and all that.

Although, kids used to pick on me alot because of my red hair (actually, most young people still do): "OMG, LOL, GINGER PUBES!"

I don't remember that. My mom might have said so, but that's what all moms say about their own kids.

Then during middleschool and highschool I was a fatass so of course I didn't look good. But now I think I do look pretty good.

Also, I have the classic Asperger's youthfulness.... I'm 24 and I could pass as 20 or younger. Which sucks now, but will be welcomed when I'm older.

Yes, I was your typical Shirley Temple child with blue eyes and blond curly hair, and an enormous head (particularly my forehead). And I also have the youthfulness that I didn't realize was an Asperger's trait. I'm 22 and often pass for 16.

Just look at my avatar and answer that question.

Mom said I was the devil in disguise.

"How could such a cute kid be such a terror?" Others would ask my parents"

No one could picture me as someone who could never go anyplace with out melting down or bashing my head against the wall.

As a teen I escaped the worst effects of acne for the most part and I still had my three year old looks at 14.

Some people said so until like middle school then no. Personally I dont think grownups ever think a child is ugly unless hes missing all his teeth or 100 pounds overweight (and even then its iffy.)

People always told me I was a cute little girl and all as a child and even now at almost 32 to some people I can pass off between 20-25 yrs of age.

Apparently people constantly told my Mom how gorgeous I was when I was little...many suggested I should be a child model(I never was)

Is looking so youthful an Asperger trait?

Grownups said that I was cute-looking but the kids always called me ugly and made fun of my looks. This happened until I was 13 when some people started to get jealous of my looks.

Yes, people thought I was a pretty child. And I look younger than I am. Classic aspie traits, I think.
