i usually turn it into a game....

like, how many plates can i clean in 5 minutes...

or how many weeds i can pull up without breaking the roots...

etc..

keep a highscore, make it fun...

I know what you mean. First, I pile everything on one side of the kitchen sink, so the other side is clear. Then I do the dishes that are least dirty, as many as I can easily fit onto the clear space. Then I dry them and put them into the kitchen cupboard. Then I take the next dirtier dishes, again as many as will easily fit onto the clear space. Dry and put away. By now there will be leftovers/garbage that you have to decide what to do with (unless you have one of those garbage grinders that I've only heard rumours about) - away with them, into the recycle bin, down the toilet, wherever. While doing the last load of dishes, soak the saucepan and frying pans. Finally, wash the pans and put them out to dry. Finished!

I use radio, or headphones to distract myself from the chore while I am doing it. Boring chores need it the most. I have even set up a mirror so I could watch TV while doing chores.

Thanks for the advice, but besides dishes what are the logical reasons for doing them? Why do people do these things?

do people feel like this changes you as a person?

to do your communal or personal duty to keep to a certain standard or hygene and tidyness...

you will find most chores, although boring, do have a perpose...

the real question people wonder is... why do I have to be the one to do it?

I tend to ignore them anyway :D . I feel overwhelmed by them. How can I cope with being overwhelmed? I think I have a fear my life will be consumed by these chores too.

I do not want chores to distract me from what I really want to do. I feel like it will take away all the space in my brain. Is that jsut from my dfficulty adapting to these chores?

look at it this way.... SOMEONE needs to do them.... and it may as well be shared among everyone, after all... do you think your the only person it would distract from what they really want to do?

no-body likes chores ('cept maybe people with OCD...)

Am I the only one here who likes doing the dishes? I like cleaning, too.

Do you feel that it interferes with your obsessions/interests?. What I mean by interfere is take away as in a loss.
