What is your operating system of choice?

I actually like Win 98, it works well on good computers, and when it crashes all you have to do is push Esc and it's fixed.

I had it for a while and my brother said "You really should try XP, it's very stable and you never get the blue screen"

I said "Gimme, I'll give you a blue screen" I installed it and took only 15 mins to get a blue screen, it shut him up. I then wiped it off and put 98 back on. I use XP now because of the video in/out card I put in.

Debian and Windows XP at the moment.

98SE was great, but drives for it are hard to come by these days. Only a good choice if you have an older hardware configuration.

I always have two computers on my desk, at work and at home. One runs Windows XP, the other runs Ubuntu (Linux). Then I run a program called Synergy to allow me to use the same mouse/keyboard for both.

I run a PC with Sabayon Linux, a somewhat bloated copy of Gentoo made into a pretty package. I used to dual boot with XP, but Wine plays most of my games fine, and I only need the Orange Box, Counter Strike Source, Starcraft, and some others to have a nice gaming environment. I first ran Ubuntu, but it was too easy for me, then I went to Wolvix. Wolvix is based off of Slackware, and it's nice and lightweight. I then switched to Fedora to experiment, and then to Sabayon, in which I believe I'm staying with. I enjoy the Portage package manager and how it compiles my applications.

I'm happy with Mac 10.5 Leopard

I like Windows 2000 Professional and Windows Server 2003 the most. Windows 2000 for Home Computers due to the fact that its not a bloated memory pig like XP and especially WINDOWS VISTA. Windows Server 2003 for workstations and servers because all the nifty script features and the programs the freedom you get with the OS.

Windows 2000 Professional is also so lightwieght that i can run it well even on older hardware but not have to put up with the poor reliability issues with Windows 9X.[Especially ME.] I can also still use mainly of the features, debugging programs, and scripting tools when i want to work on that stuff but only have limited hardware horsepower on the computer i`m on at the moment.[Like if i`m working on a few of my computers that are only PII`s.]

I also have an extreme passion with working with the Damn Small Linux and Ubuntu Operating Systems. Mainly due to the fact that those Operating Systems let you mess around with just about anything on the computer and the reliabilty of not giving the default user admin. privleges.

I LOVE Windows 9x and ME. There's nothing better than their proved stability and reliability. I love the security and performance offered by FAT32. There's no other system with less bugs, so I run all my servers on Windows 95 and recommend my clients to do so.

Windows XP/Vista and Linux/BSD are for sissies.

Windows: XP or Vista. FL Studio and the multitude of poker programs that I run (clients, analysis, and tracking) don't run on linux or OS X. I ran linux as my main os 10 years ago, when I had lots of free time. Tinkering with the OS is nowhere near as fun as it used to be. Vista just works and it runs my specialized programs. If I wasn't addicted to Windows-only programs I'd prob give OS X a shot.

I'm most happy with XP. I've only used Windows for the most part on my computers, though I've tried Ubuntu out of curiosity. Though it was nice, and I would recommend it for anyone who wants a computer just to do most basic stuff like word processing and surfing the web, I ended up taking it off since I had no real use for it.

Last year I was bored, so I picked up a mac and have been happy with OS X ever since. I also have a windows XP platform in order to run certain adaptive software for school work, but that's the only reason I use it other than games. I'm sure I'll expand my knowledge and experiment with linux at some point in the future.

Whatever will run Firefox so I can work in the Cloud.
