I know there have been threads about what people think about goths here before, but I'm curious how many of you would actually consider yourselves to be goths--or part goths, or at least interested in the subculture?

I do consider myself a goth. I'm not a COMPLETE goth--I don't act exactly like every other goth, don't like every little thing that most goths like. And I also consider myself a geek. But I'm very obsessed with the gothic subculture, very interested in the people who are a part of it, identify with a lot of it quite a bit.

Hey, what's wrong with death rock? It's not the same thing as Goth and I like it. I have also donated money to bat charities. Seriously.

Boots, chain pants, music = awesome. Though honestly I no longer wear much of it. I spend my days in preschools, taking my son to therapy and doing playdates. Seems like my life sort of squashed my goth side. Eh, I'm okay with it. No one can take away my inner goth lol

And bats are cool. I had a stuffed bat beanie. Lost him when I moved

Hahah, there's nothing wrong with it. XD It's just not a term that's used as often anymore, so most people who still use it are pretty gothy, so I thought it'd make a good joke. And that's way awesome that you've donated to bat charities.

Definitely not a Goth. I have an attraction for gothy-looking girls (Sarah Bonham Carter is IMO one of the best-looking actresses out there, so Burton is quite a lucky guy then), but I wouldn't correlate my lifestyle with whatever vagaries define the current Goth subculture trends.

I have a macabre streak in me, for sure. But it's natural - not contrived. I do not dress overtly goth at all (wouldn't be appropriate in my position), but just some. Sort of Victorian-Goth. I am told I have a Wednesday Addams stare. I look some like a horror movie character, but, again, it's innate, not affect. I am ghastly pale and have dark eyes, with natural dark around my eyes, dark eyelashes and eyebrows, but blonde hair. Big green eyes. Plus, I have (so I'm told) a 'haunted look.' I guess it's that Aspie stare...I don't know. I don't mean to.

I'm not goth -- but there were a couple months where I found social refuge in my school's goth scene. I'm proud to declare them interesting, intelligent, and mostly harmless. :)

Yeah, I'm sort of an accidental Goth. I don't try to be Goth, but I can't help it. I'm naturally morbid and intrigued by things that are considered creepy. And my favorite colors are black, red and grey. It doesn't help that I happen to have big dark eyes, dark hair, pale skin, a big forehead, a small nose, and a mostly black wardrobe (for practical purposes including easy coordination).

that sums me up quite well, veresae. :)
id definitely say im associated to the scene somehow, but not to the degree of excluding everything else and being some kind of a goth conformist. its definitely a big part of me, but not all of me. theres geekdom, a fascination with japanese pop culture, and there also is music out there that isnt gothic but still interesting. :)

funny enough, i think thats more goth than following each and every patchouli rule although i dont really care about being more or less goth.

Grunge ftw.

Apparently my boyfriend's workmates think I'm "sort of mostly" goth though because I have a leather jacket. And, hey, I like the Crow, I must be dedgoffic.

Even though I'm classified as a prep at my school, I'll hang out with just about anyone as long as they're nice.
