So, if people with AS and "NTs" would change places in terms of number (and then being and "NT" would be considered a syndrome most likely) do you think the world would be better or worse?

(Sorry, posted this thread at a wrong place also. Delete the other thread please)

A whole race of people who are capable of separating logic from emotions? That would be amazing. Not to mention the ones who are crazy good at something.

There would be a lot less crime.

Aspies fight amongst each other same as everyone else. I don't think there would be any serious solidarity. We'd find other reasons to fight eachother, reasons unrelated to diagnosis. The assumption here is that we're better than everyone else because we're a minority, which is bool sheet.

People with less severe cases of AS would become the new NTs.

I haven't heard anyone claim that. Better because we are able to see things logically instead of emotionally. Better because we are smarter.

But not because we are a minority. What would the logic be in that?

Many people throughout history have come up with the idea that they are part of a superior group who would do a far better job running the world. Hitler being one of them.

We are human, and humans will always corrupt.

I hate to say it, but not to judge by many of the arguments I've seen on here. Based on what I've seen on WP, Aspies can be just as emotional and irrational as any NT.

Well, that's a debatable point. Aspies certainly have different strengths than NTs, but is there any data stating that they have higher IQs? What rubric are you using anyway? In fact, I've been researching prosody in HFA and AS for my Master's thesis, and most of the studies report IQ scores. And guess what? The mean IQs for the Aspie groups are generally below average (this is from maybe 75 studies or so). Now, you can debate the validity of different IQ tests for evaluating Aspies, but where is the evidence that Aspies are smarter?

And how about about the executive functioning problems many people here have? Those are practically built into a spectrum diagnosis. Executive problems aren't exactly conducive to running a society.
It also depends on what level of functioning you are talking about. Many Aspies do have problems with activities of daily living, and can have very low frustration thesholds (and frustration often equals meltdown). Maybe some Aspies could run the world better than some NTs, but I wouldn't say that an all-Aspie world would be a big improvement.

It would be better in some ways and worse in some ways. We have a lot of strengths that NTs don't have, but NTs also have a lot of strengths that we don't have.

I tend to agree with you, its take all sorts to make this world up and we are all unique individuals on or off the spectrum, and as I know what its like to be continually discriminated against / misunderstood, would not want to do that to NTs - good and bad in everyone.

Still Aspie world nice thought and deep down can not help wondering can we be the next superior race, or are we really human aliens... just thoughts of course

It would be good to find people I can relate to more often but I think the world would become a boring place if every one was an Aspie.

It would be better for me personally, but on a global scale? Probably different, but not necessarily better, nor worse.
