Who draws using a computer ?

Im learning how to trace from a sketched drawing on photoshop and colouring and stuff. Anyone have any tips, especially for colour. I have difficulty using different shades of colour to create texture and realism. But bearing in mind i dont have a lot of expereicne in drawing, in fact i havent drawn anything in the last 10 years barring doodling during boring lectures.

Anyone use Illustrator ? I quite like the idea of vector drawing, since i suck at drawing with a pen or mouse i get the feeling vector might be easier. Or not ?

Although im not looking for PS techniques for colouring (i will later though) but actually how to colour and shade a picture from a drawing perspective

Maybe i just need to go drawing school. Although i cant afford it. Know any good tutorials ?
