If it's what I think it is, it's a few years old. Great big mechanical things played by bouncing balls, etc?

Sadly it is.

Saw some of this stuff on local PBS affiliates during pledge drive programming. At first, I thought the images (of the so-called instruments) really were making the music, and I was confused & amazed. I finally figured out (or heard it explained by the announcers during a break in show) that it was just great synchrony. The look of the animation was cool, the clay-like fluidity.

I've seen some of animusic. It's so neat. I like the one where they are shooting balls at the instruments to play them. I'm not describing it well and i don't remember what it;s called but it is cool.

It's called "Pipe Dreams":

The second album has "Pipe Dreams 2", which I've seen on the local PBS affiliate:

Yes! That is sooo damn cool. It's amazing how they sync up the actions and the music. Blows the hell outta fantasia. I have also loved "The Mind's Eye". Another cool animusic-like video.

I love the music...it is really beautiful. My second favorite is Aqua Harp.
