In Ohio there was recently a law passed where adult book and magazine stores now must close between the hours of 12 AM and 6 AM, thereby limiting there hours of operation. Some Christian groups stand outside photographing patrons as they come and go! Personally, I think one's private life should be private, and not subject to law (as long as consenting adults are involved). There is a group basically trying to force all of their Christian values into LAW. I believe this undermines the goals of this country's founders, which was to keep church and state separate. Having a "state religion" is wrong and frankly scary.

Your opinion of the Christian Right's morals becoming everyone's laws is...

I hadn't heard anything about this. It will never succeed. I am a christian myself but I disagree with a lot of the things christians do. I am accepting of all the ways of people and I do not go around forcing religion onto others. Forcing religion down people's throats is NOT the right thing to do. That is why people hate religion to begin with. I believe in the same things christians do, but I could care less whether everyone else believes in God or not. It's people's own business what they believe.

It's succeeding in Ohio. Check 'em out.

Christianity tends to make people overly conservative-minded. As long as a person is a Christian, without being an "extreme" Christian, it doesn't really bother me. I think that if everybody would consider themselves as being agnostic, this world would have far less problems than it has right now. I'm saying this as an former Christian and current Agnostic.

Yup, I've seen it. I've owned the film since it came out on DVD.

You see extreme Christians everywhere around the area I live in. The film didn't scare me quite as much as it would scare some of you guys who may have grown up in a more liberal area of the world as me.

I was open-minded when I was a Christian, only LESS open-minded as I am now. To be honest with you, I was STRICT when it came to following the bible. This was mainly due to the fact that I tried to avoid going to hell at all costs. I hated gays, I hated lesbians, I hated non-christians. Now I'm a very different person. Becoming Agnostic really has helped me feel better, and I can still open up my mind to the possibility of there being a God, even if it's very improbable.

Good to see I'm not alone in this. It's wrong to hate someone because they don't believe the same way or any other reason. Most christians hate others for being of a different religion and many other stupid reasons without realizing that the bible says to love thy neighnor. I could care less what anyone else believes, though I am guilty of hating people that hate me first. And that's another thing, we are human. It is not possible to live exactly like extreme christians say we should.

I have wanted to post these thoughts for a long now but I feel like I may be attacked for this, either by extreme christians or by aethiests.

Hmmm, it's #5 on my Netflix queue - I'll have to move it to the top 8)

I don't respond well to religious pressure. If religion was to become law, then I would go back to prison, eventually. I don't have problems with any types of religion, as long as I am not pressured to follow. I believe in freedom of mind, so long as it doesn't affect others, negatively.

I believe, in the U.S., church and state will remain seperate. :)

Here's my question, why the hell (pun intended  ) would anyone even want to join that religion if there is not guarantee they would go to heaven?

I saw this once on a bumper sticker: the last time church and state joined forces we had the witch trials
