Yeah, the thing is, scientology is scam. If they were truley looking out for the best for people, the wouldn't force absurd prices to read your level or what not.

I agree with you. I read once somewhere that people who are celeberties join it because they feel guilty for having so much in life and other people suffer. Scientology tells them that they are reaching thier "potential" or whatever by being celberties. I think you'd have to have a very impressionable mind to actually believe them. I feel bad for Juliette Lewis since I really enjoy her in Natural Born Killers.

To me, most religions are, to some extent, a scam; some people just succeed in scamming themselves, that's all. Every one of them has good intentions in there, somewhere, but any morality that considers itself so absolute is BOUND to be corrupted by power-grabbing, assuming that wasn't its intention in the first place.

I say believe whatever you want--I don't even have a real problem with a Money-making religion to be honest, but what I REALLY don't appreciate is that church's policy of isolating people from their families and harassing their critics. Ive got no problem making fun of them, the Mormons, Fundamentalists, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc... because all those groups they are all known to impose their own specific dogmas on secular politics, isolate and proselytize. Its not fair, but I wouldn't dream of making fun of Quakerism, Judaism, Mainstream Islam or Wicca, because none of those groups feel particularly intent upon getting their claws into me. Once you close your ears, open your mouth and pass measures that keep me from having a beer or making out with my boyfriend, you pretty much become fair game for mockery in my book.
