Irlen Lenses

Has anyone used these? I have some very funky visual problems and I was reading about these online and some people with autism, including Donna Williams, just swear by them - but they are very expensive . . . has anyone used them personally?

I use these at school (college). Most of the classeromms use flurescent lights. I use two purple overlays. They seem to help, a lot.

My wife has had purple glasses since she was diagnosed with dyslexia and scotopic sensitivity syndrome a few years ago.

She says the difference they make is huge; words that were previously wobbling about, unclear, or looked as if they were floating 'above the page' are suddenly 'flat' when wearing them. If she forgets them in the morning before she goes to work she comes back with headaches and stressed from having to read and write without them.

If you have difficulties that look like they may be caused by SSI (or Irlen syndrome) I would strongly suggest checking it out.
