Hello, I'm new here. My name is Tom and I'm 43, from Cork in Ireland. I suspected I was somewhere on the spectrum for a number of years, but I finally got diagnosed in February of this year.

I'm a software developer, but have been out of work for a few years now, getting anxious about the interview process doesn't help. I have been updating my skills recently.

I read a lot, mainly science fiction and fantasy but lots of other things as well, I feel lost without a book nearby. , I'm also interested in boardgames, roleplaying games and wargames, computer games, science and technology, and tend to absorb trivia. I recently started doing some volunteer work for a charity organisation.

Parts of it are very picturesque, popular with tourists and Irish alike. The Ring of Kerry, West Cork, The Burren, Connemara, the river Shannon, the lakes, Donegal etc.

Hi Tom!

We have a lot in common. I am in research but also do programming. The former covers my reading need with text books and scientific papers. I also gulge up fantasy novels in seconds. Don't you just love how clear and straighforward computer programs can be? Welcome to the forum!
