I am trying very hard to acquire some social skills, but I'm finding that most resources are really ambiguous or difficult for me to picture.

I am looking for something along the lines of a comic book that shows what to do in different social situations. Does anything like this exist? I bought Carol Gray's 'Comic Strip Conversations' but it is only a teaching source - it requires having someone who has social skills to teach someone who doesn't. You have to make your own comics. I'm looking for something where the comics are already there, if that makes sense.

What I'm looking for would be illustrated examples of different social scenarios. If this doesn't exist, it really should. It'd be a comic-book style reference manual for the socially inept! =D

Here are some examples of things I'd like to see illustrated:

Dating Scenarios - What to do when...
- Someone offers to buy you a drink (what if you don't drink?)
- Someone asks for your phone number (and you hate phones!)
- Someone invites you to their house...alone! (and the potential situations resulting. eep!)

Friend Scenarios - What to do when...
- A friend invites you to a party (and you don't want to go or need specific details)
- A friend is upset (and you keep saying the wrong things)
- A friend is being too friendly (and invading your comfort zone)

Public Scenarios - What to do when...
- Stopped by a police officer (for acting strange, etc.)
- You're lost and need directions
- Someone is upsetting you (they are too loud/too close/staring)

School Scenarios - What to do when...
- You need clarification on an assignment (because it's too ambiguous)
- You are forced to work in a group (how to get along?)
- Someone in the class is bothering you (and you don't want to cause problems)

There are many, many more. But does anything like this exist? If not, would anyone be interested in making it exist?

There are some books for self-help groups of adults with 'hf' ASDs. They're easy to understand and answer basic questions. I think the ones I've seen up to now are from TEEACH.

I don't think they have comic books, but the text in them is descriptive and direct. I do think some of it requires someone who understands social skills too, though some sheets give good explanations that do not require such.

Since it's only a translation form English to German I've no idea where to get these things though!

Not quite what I'm searching for, but that does look very interesting and would probably be a huge help. (If I can find it for, say, a tenth of the price :? )

Hello All,
I'm working on an ebook right now for my son and his friends who are in high school so it's beyond the 'usual' social skills training one receives from their school system or social skills groups. I can incorporate those areas into my book and add hand drawn pictures. Is there anyone else who has any requests or would have interest in this also? Are there other topics or areas that you'd like to see more realistic responses/conversations in??

Thanks :D
