Apparently of recent news of mariah getting married she had her second wedding at six flags & is married to a much younger guy nick cannon. She even claims in one article she feels like a 12 yr old. & apparently nick cannon has been shopping for her at hello kitty. I'm starting to think she is cuz lately she's been one bazaar b***h, lol.

Lately?

She's been pretty bazaar for the past decade. I think that considering that Mariah Carey is aspie is an insult to all aspies.

I don't think it would necessarily indicate that she is an Aspie.

If bizarre behavior in celebrities is an indicator of aspiness, then what about:
Britney Spears? (Meltdown City)
Lindsey Lohan? (Ditto)
Michael Jackson? (King of Bizarre Behavior)

Or perhaps we can look at the one entertainer who has come out and admitted he had AS, Dan Ackroyd.
A little geeky perhaps, but I can't remember any major tabloid moments in his career.

Does Mariah Carey have Asperger Syndrome? I could care less one way or the other. She is one of the most beautiful women alive, with incredible talent. Isn't that enough?

I like Dan Aykroyd. He seems very approachable and down-to-eath. Not at all like other Hollywood actors.

I don't see anything Aspie in Mariah Carey. I think she is a very talented, wonderful, lovely female singer. And being an Aspie doesn't mean that I have bizarre behavior. Jeez.

My understanding is that this may have been a joke and that his claimed diagnosis occurred when he was a kid - long before AS was added to the DSM.

I don't think most of us can properly deduce whether or not a person we see on television (or on stage) has AS. If I was a celebrity, I'd probably be insulted by random speculation about my personal life (whether it involved AS or something else).

Is there really that much shame in admitting to a spectrum diagnosis? Why are we so hung up on this?

Are you referring to my comment? I don't think there is shame in admitting to diagnosis. As a private person, I would find it insulting if people that didn't know me were discussing my personal life (whether the conversation involved AS or not). I also find it insulting the way some members of the community treat Bill Gates (and others). Bill has not publicly disclosed a diagnosis, yet some people use him as an example of why being on the spectrum is good for mankind. I don't think that is appropriate.

At least he gives his money away to charitable causes and helps his fellow man. Given his net-worth, I'd say BG is very good for humanity.

You missed my point:
1) Bill has not publicly annouced that he is on the spectrum.
2) People on this forum (and elsewhere) have declared that he is on the spectrum without facts to back up their declaration.
3) People use this bogus diagnosis to promote a pro-spectrum agenda.

It doesn't matter to me how you feel about Bill. As long as #1 above is true, I feel that using Bill for #3 above is wrong.
