Thursday, May 22nd episode (Episode 1) is up. June 2nd is when the second episode is going up. The runtime is almost an hour.

Seems CBC does some spotted reports on the subject of Autism. Don't know how good it is, will give it a listen tonight as I missed the show on Thursday.

A forwarning...you have to have or install Realplayer to listen to this show. I did and had some problems because I forgot to get rid of my security firewalls, but it worked out in the end.

I thought it was a well done program. Les emotionally driven then most (but the title sucks)....

I did think that it was interesting that they a least had one parent with an adult AS child mention that there needs to be more research and help for adults on the spectrum, those who may need it anyway. I also thought the parent of the teen who talked about what a great time it was to be autistic was living in some kind of black and white fantasy land...evidently unaware of eugenics and the idea that we are all computer or engineer or math geniuses(I'mnot) and that our employers understand AS and except it is ridiculous...understand..no, use to make them money...maybe.

Over all, I thought it was interesting and better then some show on autism because at least they admited how wrong they had gotten it in the past and that they still had a long way to go to understand it.....if they are on the right path..highly doubtful but it's always good to know where someone is going if they are going to try and drag us there.

The "darkest secrets of our genes?" *cough**cough*
What we have here is more sensationalist media crap about a minority group that wants to scare or draw tears rather than actually inform.

The development of autism takes place in the genes, that it is born and often propagated. Why it forms is still a mystery to geneticists and leads many to believe in a convergence hypothesis (Neanderthal theory) or a divergence hypothesis (Autistic Sub-specie theory). The wording could have been better chosen, but it does bring up murky questions as to what is happening being born with it.

I still say it beat the crap out of listening to Jenny McCarthy and Autism Sucks spouting their emotion laden tripe.
