My name is Eric, I'm 16, and have Asperger's Syndrome.
History-
My parents thought there was something off about me from the time I was 2 or 3 (I'm almost 17 now) but didn't know what it was because of the lack of info on higher functioning versions of autism, like AS. We moved around a few times when I was a kid, so that probably helped hide my problem for awhile (inability to socially interact being mistaken for shyness). It was only after my dad was tested positive for AS when I was 12 that my mom even thought to test me and my two younger brothers. It was rough for me being diagnosed because I had to reevaluate how I approached life. Living in the small town Alabama doesn't help either, because people down here generally don't understand you. For example, after requesting special education services from my high school I've been met with indifference by most of the faculty who think I don't qualify because I'm not "Forest Gump stupid", to quote my principal, so I dropped out and am now pursuing my GED and going to college next semester for a degree in engineering.
Interests-
I love doing stand up comedy, because it gives me a chance to make people laugh and feel good, which is a great feeling.
I love gaming, especially StarCraft and Gears of War, so if you feel like playing me, let me know . Info can be exchanged and tails can be kicked.
Music is something I do as a hobby. I play electric bass and guitar and am working on piano.
I am a yearly NaNoWriMo participant (I always fail though ) because I like writing.
So here I am and sorry to be so long. If you bothered to read all that, then thanks for hearing me out. If ya didn't, I don't blame you.
Comments, Support, Advice, would be more than welcome.
Thanks.
