Does anyone else have their emotions get affected by the music they hear? I mean like if I'm mad I can calm down by a certain music or I can even get mad if I want too.

When I listen to anything with lots of cursing or high energy angry lyrics I get mad
If I hear a love song I barf :eew:
If I hear country I laugh (sry just don't like it :? )
Opera relaxes me :D
Rock makes me feel good the classic rock does.
Blues makes me sad but a good sad :) :( :P
and so on.

How does music make you feel?

Yes, for me, music is more emotionally provocative than anything else. Maybe that's why I've chosen for my life to revolve around it.

Do different kinds evoke different emotions?

Of course. Music has the ability to inspire all emotions. Just this morning in fact, I found an online quiz about emotional reactions to music. I'll go ahead and link to the quiz and to the review of it that I wrote. After taking it I am interested in what results other people would have.

The quiz: http://www.musicalemotions.org

My results: http://www.last.fm/user/handmeups/journal/2008/05/31/204xsf_musical_emotions_profile

For me, the most powerful emotion is a feeling of passion that goes beyond specific feelings such as happiness or sadness and sometimes brings you to a state of ecstacy. It is the feeling of having the deepest experience of life and not holding anything back. It is the feeling that my favorite music expresses. Some of my favorite artists who express this emotion are Mono, Merzbow, John Coltrane, and Beethoven. As you see if you are familiar with those names, they belong to four different genres which are usually considered quite different. The artists' emotional depth, however, has the same quality. I make music myself, and the ecstatic expression of passion is the emotion that I try to communicate.
