The fact that once you realize you have AS, you no longer have to hold yourself to NT standards. You can seek happiness as YOU see fit. If that doesn't involve social climbing, material acquisition, or bed hopping, you no longer have to feel like you are somehow defective. When you accept this, you can pursue your own interests without caring what others think. Your own opinion need be your only measure as to your level of success, however you define that.
When you realize this, you understand that we have a greater potential to be happy than they do. Playing the social game in our consumerist society leads to perpetual insatiability, where you everything have attained is never enough. There is always someone higher on the social status totem pole. Keeping up with the Joneses (and trying to one-up them) is the obsessive interest most NT's are afflicted with. Our obsessions may be weird to them, but they are far more practical and attainable.
