As a young child I can remember on many ocassions having woken up in bed in the morning only to discover that I threw up all over myself during the night, also many times I was unable to hold food down right after I had eaten, this often co-incided with me having a migrane. This cycle ended abruptly when I was 12, the last time I threw up was Saturday, July 25th, 1992.

While being a rather gross topic, did anyone else have any problems holding food down as a kid?

I'm very picky about what I eat, but I never had the throwing up problem . . .

Did you ever see the Seinfeld where they were talking about remembering the last date that they threw up? Your giving a specific date made me think of that . . .

When you say it coincided with a migraine do you mean that you had the headache when you threw up? My father and I are both migraine sufferers since the age of 8 or 9 (thanks Dad!) and often either throw up or come very close during a migraine.

I have always been an extraordinarily picky eater. I am generally unwilling to eat any type of food that isn't very plain. While I never had episodes of waking up in the middle of the night and vomiting, many foods will cause me to gag or throw up almost instantly if I try to eat them. Other foods often trigger migraines for me, which are also associated with vomiting.

I thought about the Seinfeld episode too.

I didn't really have that problem, for the most part I eat just about anything.

I've always been a picky eater, I can't often eat mushy food like mashed potatos because sometimes it makes me feel like I'm going to gag, of course, I likely could eat pizza for every meal if I could. :)

I was really picky was when I was in my elementary school years. Now a days I'm still slightly picky but eat a lot more different food than when I was young. I didn't even eat pizza until a couple of years ago. Now a days I love it.

I have a lot of sensory issues when it comes to food and my diet is somewhat limited. I can get physically ill from just the smell of some foods. Texture is also a big problem for me and I completely understand about the mashed potato thing MishLuvsHer2Boys, I gag after a few spoonfuls. I can't even eat my favorite foods if the texture or taste is slightly different than what I'm used too.

I don't refer to myself as a picky eater though because it implies that I'm just choosing not to eat certain foods. What I usually tell people is that my body can't handle certain foods and they usually accept that. That way I don't have to hear a lecture about what I should be eating

I used to eat and drink everything that I was given to me as a child.

I dunno why, but eating chocolates, biscuits and chips no longer taste as good as in the past. When I eat overly sugary/oily foods, I feel a bit nauseous.
