Im an 80's freak but then again I was a teenager in the 80's so that explains things. I still to this day am what is known as a "Duranie"....(an obsessed Duran Duran fan). My most prized possession is my picture of me hugging John Taylor (bassist of Duran Duran).....I even managed to ask him for said hug. I actually dont remember what I said but I do remember that he smelled really good and it was like hugging someone I knew very well.

Plenty of music was made in the 80s, alot of it awful, but a whole other lot amazing. The post-punk/gothic rock kind of bands like bauhaus, cure, new order, depeche mode etc are bands I love, and of course the 80s Metallica albums, all of Iron Maidens great albums, make the 80s a great decade musically. Over the top hair-metal and cheesy pop weren't so great though :P

The Mainstream in the 80's was awful except for the small minority Bauhaus, Virigin Prunes, Siouxsie and the banshess, Specimen etc...
And ofcourse the batcave cannot be missed out

Of course , 1986 was great year for new wave and thrash metal fans , including the release of hit albums like, Master of Puppets , Reign in Blood, Peace Sells, and Somewhere in Time. Michael Jackson, Madonna, and the Police also released some hits during the early 80's , of course their was also Billy Idol and most importantly GNR's Appetite for Destruction in 1987 and Lies in 1988 , the 80's were a phenominal time for music evolution and the list just goes on and on.

Generally speaking in my opinion anything made before the 90s is much better than what we have today. Sadly today its lets play follow the leader and sing the same way about the same stuff, nothing new and no innovation

I actually prefer '70s like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. But my absolute favorite band is The Beatles.
