Nice to meet you!
I wasn't diagnosed with AS but suspected it since I was fifteen 'cause there've been too many differencies between me and my schoolmates. I just didn't know how to name it and felt very upset because of being different. I've always been alone and felt misunderstood every time I expressed my own point of view, it seemed not standard to everyone I tried to talk to. But I found the Wrong Planet by chance and all these guys here support me and make me confident in myself.
We're not strange, we're just different-minded. Don't be upset! Smile to yourself :)

Hi welcome to the "right" planet 8O

Sorry your having such a hard time, unfortunately there can be a dark side to being on the autism spectrum. But understanding aspergers and who you truly are really does help, feel it saved my life.

When I was in school they moved me up and down and had no clue what was "wrong" with me because there was no AS in the 60's! And when I dropped out of high school and got one of the highest scores they had ever seen on the state GED test (which I completed more than two hours before time was up) they still didn't get it. At that point I was simply BAD! So, hang tough.
Don't mean to hijack, but this struck a chord. I was the bad kid in second grade in 1971. They pulled me out of school and put me through a three day battery of tests to see just how developmentally delayed I was. Turns out I was the first bored second grader with a 135 IQ that they had met yet. (end hijack.)
