I wouldn't exactly call myself a fan, but I did see them in concert in 2006 (a friend of mine asked me a long because we missed seeing each other a few months beforehand).

I quite enjoyed it, even though I couldn't hear for a day or so afterwards :) Even bought their greatest hits album...

I like individual stuff, but not actually as an entire CD's worth...;)

I'm a huge fan of them. Man in the Box is one of my all time favourite songs.

Absolutely LOVE this band.

Felt pretty sh***y seeing a tiny news blurb about Layne's death on MTV, while that shitacular station was too busy pandering to the next NON-music phenom violence/drug/sex peddlers spitting in their mic (rap).... Quite sad the way he died/was found, I did feel it deep, and am saddened at the fact that there will be no more AIC...

AWESOME band. Facelift=FTW. I listen to that whole album even today, tho when I was a child/teen was in constant rotation.

I wasn't really into music in the 90s but I liked AIC whenever I heard them.

This is one of my favorites.

I'm very much a fan of Alice In Chains. I distinctly recall how upset I was when Layne died, and as -JR mentioned above, how little coverage it got on MTV (and then, how MTV made the absolute biggest thing out of Lisa Lopes's death a week later-- not that I have a problem with TLC, but there was obviously inequality in the way one group of fans was treated compared to another). It saddened me that Layne's passing went so unrecognized, particularly because there was always something in his voice that absolutely struck a nerve in me.

"Man In The Box" is a classic, and "Rooster", and "Would?". But I've always liked "Angry Chair" in particular.

Jeez I remember being in this boutique in Ireland when news came on about Layne's death. My ex was standing next to me, when all of a sudden I started to cry. He was hard of hearing so didn't have a bloody clue as to why I was displaying such overwhelming emotion. He hurried me out the shop and into the alley and asked me what was wrong. Through the tears I mumbled that Layne Staley had overdosed, "Who's that" he said. Did not help the tears I am afraid.
My fave song is Whales and Wasps. That song does something to me!
