I am from Newcastle Upon Tyne myself.
I would love to meet with a group of Aspies from Newcastle or from anywhere else in the UK.
It would be great to meet and hang out with some people who I can understand, and that can understand me in return. :o

Well i'm down here in Notts but I don't really do meeting up!

If you don't already know me in real life it's unlikely you will ever meet me as I am very selective with new meatspace people. I feel this could be a common problem for arranging meetings with anyone on this forum!

Hey fellow UK dwelling person :)
No problem, I know that meeting new people is hard myself, I have social phobia. For some reason, I find myself more relaxed when getting to know other people who have AS, I know I can 'be myself' around them. It would be nice to make a friend or two I actually feel 'safe' with :) but I can appreciate meeting up won't be alot of peoples cups of tea.

I am myself around everyone I meet which is sort of the problem!
Cups of tea are always good though, the great ice breaker.
I don't regularly keep in touch with many people on this forum or anywhere else but friendly conversation is always good even if it's through these electric mistresses of ours.

I get the train to newcastle sometimes & its 3hrs, and as low as £25 return if you book early enough.

West Midlands over here. (The general area, not the actual county... more specifically, I'm in Shropshire.)

*looks at previous sentence* And yep, I'm definitely an Aspie. :P

Yeah, I'm from Hampshire (it's still debatable that I'm an aspie, but nevermind). It's.... flat down here. My parents are in Newcastle at the minute though enjoying a wedding. Small world eh?

There appears to be quite a few UK members using WrongPlanet.net, or at least this is the impression the Meet Up thread gives. I have noticed that many are male; I do not have any female friends, and would like to establish some.

I am also from West Yorkshire. This is a fair distance from Newcastle so the information may not be of much use, still I was surprised that someone else disclosed this location.

I am not sure that being around other Aspergers guarantees that the individual would be understood, and understand others in return, but a lot of people do share this belief and I hope you manage to find some nice people to befriend.
