mainly, i feel i've been discriminated THAT MUCH by society that i don't want to come onto a likeminded forum (about asperger's) and find a similar amount of seperation based solely on X and Y chromosomes.

it may be because many many NT women screwed me over during my teenage years...it may be because i'm a transvestite and see gender as meaningless and mallable...it may because i see any person, who doesn't question societies arbitrary gender roles as a complete TOOL...but i find the seperation of sexes/genders in this world distressing and offensive...

look at me as perhaps a male feminist..although i hate the word feminist...let us call it "equalism" please!

i would certainly never ask for a "men only" forum on this board...but i imagine, being that we are a group with genetically similar minds, a bond THAT GOES FAR BEYOND WHAT GENITALIA WE HAVE...that we would be able to discuss our issues without the need for dividing us by sexes...i hope this part of the forum is removed soon.

oh, and just to prove this point, whilst what you'd consider "straight"...i'd be happy to exchange makeup/dressing tips with any feminine minded people on the forum (whether they be male or female in sex bits)

<3 you all, and i don't discriminate ;)

I think you're confusing sex w/ gender.

hmmm. i've never thought of the women's forum as discriminating or excluding the men. men post there too.

i always thought of it like a helpful warning to the men- "caution, talk of blood and vaginas may ensue-- those with a weak stomach, keep out!"

Yeah, I'm not a woman but I happened to stumble upon this post, and I think the forum is more for questions and discussions that guys can't usually/don't usually feel comfortable answering. Like the best brand of tampons, or how it feels for a girl to lose her virginity. There's certain things that are different for women, I've never thought of forums like these as discrimination.

yeah, i quite like biology, talk of vagina's wouldn't disgust me in any way...

i think it's just the simple fact it's called the "women's forum" as opposed to the "female forum" i'd certainly acknowledge the biological difference in that case...an words mean alot to me, you know, the hypersensitivity the aspies sometimes get....plus, i hate being called a "man" or a "guy" because theyre two words associated with war...pestilence...and f***ing people over...

maybe it's just me...i've been discriminated against all my life on every conceivable level (apart from race, thank god...) and didn't need to see some kind of (slightly) discrimatory section in an aspie forum....because there is the slight attitude of "MEN...BEHAVE!" attached to this section...and personally i'm offended by that. x

i'm trying to understand. interested not critical... confused by your dislike of being called a man or a guy. i think-- um, but he IS one... so... you only accept the adjective 'male' then? or not even that, only 'person'? i don't associate "men" with "warlike people who will f*** me over" and if you are lumping all men into one category, well that sterotyping in itself seems very close to discrmination. i can understand about not wanting to conform to a gender role, but i guess i don't get why that would make you dislike the gender itself.

the problem isn't people like you man, people who are mature and whatnot
its jackasses who insist on coming in and bothering everyone
asking stupid questions to have a laugh

sex is the physical state and gender is what you identify with...i think it's either or in this case anyway

i think a men's discussion would actually be good too...neither keeps any particuar sex/gender out but it is sort of a warning as said by i_Am_andaJoy...i may not be too keen on reading some guys things so if it had its own area like women do then at least it's "enter at your own risk" just as the women's is...

organizing things into catagories as such makes sense to me *shrug*

i dunno that's my take on it...

Many boards have women's forums ... I read that men dont post a lot in men's forums when they are provided. The last board I was a member of closed down their men's forum because men didnt seem to like talking about their feelings, and men's issues, and there was so little traffic in the forum that there was no point in having it.

Its posts like the one you made in the "where males stand in this forum" that make limiting male involvement here necessary.

Men like to post things like that, belittle women's concerns, or otherwise rant, making it impossible for woman to talk about woman topics

Okay, I'd like to correct my last post. I should have said there are certain things that are different for females. So, basically the OP doesn't mind a forum like this, he just would prefer a different title? (I say he assuming the poster still identifies as a man, because he said he was a transvestite, which is a man who dresses as a woman but doesn't necessarily identify as a woman, to my understanding)

That makes sense, since many guys don't really feel comfortable discussing their feelings with other guys, because they feel that somehow hurts their masculinity.

yeah, i think that changing the words to a "female" forum would make it far less offensive as it's a simple biological thing. i understand that many females here are against the steretypical roles that society puts "women" in anyway so itd help break down the barriers.x

Why don't you look around at the males who posted here, and the reason why the forum for men had to be disbanded. It wasn't behavior as bad as my example - it was far worse that resulted in there being need for a separate woman's forum and it being not worthwhile to continue hosting the mens.

its good to get the background information on the reasons why such a situation occurs before you start complaining about the way things are
