Drinking isn't the best idea for health or finances or safety or relationships, varying per person.
There isn't anything immoral about it and the government shouldn't have a say anyway, so there should be no drinking age (id est, anyone can drink.) And, before it is asked, I do mean alcohol.
babysteps. gotta lower the drinking age before abolishing it. not that it'd make a lot of difference in implimentation but rather the public psyche has to move towards it.
i think age has very little to do with it, though. i think it's more the kind of drinking you're around and the psychology of the drink.
it's kind of ingrained in the american culture for whatever reason to drink abusively. i've recognized that more and more and have generally cut my drinking down (though i'll be getting alcohol poisoning this weekend...but that's a planned event). from what i heard from friends who've lived abroad, the drinking culture isn't similar to america in most places.
