So alot of aspies have a fascination of computers and the like, and it got me wondering: Anybody have any interest in cars?

And i don't mean "well i drive", but more of an actual hobby, interest, or obsession.

Personally, i dont know f*ck all about cars, and i don't really care for driving. Wouldn't mind a motorbike though, i guess its the more "solo" way to go.

am used to live with a profound LFA man who's obsession was cars,he got every copy of the auto trader magazine to look at the pictures of cars in it,he had framed pictures of different cars in his room and different car/bus models, and whenever he saw a car in the street that he liked he would go and hug it and refuse to let go.

I sort of like cars but I don't have a deep interest in it for instance knowing all the body part names and how to fix things. It's just something to get me where I need to go.

The problem with allowing my love of motor cars free reign is that it don't harf cost a lot of money!

Yuck! That's my opinion. I grew up listening to my brother yak on and on about cars (NT), and they totally bore me.

No offense to anyone who is interested in cars. I just had car talk overload growing up.

I have a deep interest in cars, got one waiting for work by me on it on my trailer. Got no engine 'cos I rebuilding it from the ground up.

I've always had an interest in cars, my girlfriend and I never knew about aspergers, well, now I do and she doesn't - that was the end of that...

I love all machines. I wish I had more time for cars but I don’t. Cars take up a lot of time and money to play with, neither of which I have a lot of. Maybe some day. I used to work on my car when I was a teenager. In those days the only thing you saw when you lifted the hood was an engine. Now that was a long time ago.

This is an interesting question.

I don't like cars as a mode of transport. I think cars are practical and necessary in rural areas, but that urban areas are much better served by public transport.

I don't really like driving, either. No, I take that back - I like driving, I'm just scared of the other drivers.

As for cars themselves, as objects, I like cars. I'm certainly not obsessed with cars but I am interested in cars. I particularly like cars as design objects - I'm fascinated by design, and cars are some of the largest and most intricate pieces of industrial design you'll come across.

I mostly like British cars. I guess Italian cars would be my second choice. The 1950s and 1960s are my favorite era, as for most design. My favorite marque overall is Jaguar. Overall favorite car has to be the E-Type, I guess.

Yup, always been very interested in cars and car statistics. Member of a racing club, buy specialist jag magazines, etc. Brilliant things.

I love cars, truly. and I'm a girl, that's saying something. My ideal car: Maserati Cambriocorso gran coupe, although i might have flubbed the spelling. The price tag out of my reach for now, unless my poker game takes off. But I can pretty much narrow down what might be wrong in my car before I take it in (which cracks up the mechanic who is really a nice guy, not one of those evil mechanics), explained car stuff to people at work ( a lady asking 'so what is a hemi?' I don't know why, but I've always loved that stuff. And the sound of a jet engine. NOt too many girls can tell u what the navy replaced the F16 Tomcat with, but I can, off the top of my head, and I realize that freaks guys out, but oh well.

My father had a dealership when I was younger so I grew up in a family that loves cars and anything related to cars.

My brother followed in his footsteps. Not me.

I drive an old Chevrolet Cavalier 2000.

As long as it can take me from point A to point B, I don't care.

But I do like looking at nice cars, I wouldn't surf web pages or buy magazines on them, though.

WOW. I have a bit of an obsession with the Smart ForTwo (secondary to my main obsession which is prehistoric life), but my girlfriend would go crazy if I attempted to hug them in the street! I just think that they're adorable though, and get really happy when I see one. I don't actually drive - I have a feeling I'm really not cut out for it.

F14 tomcat.... f16 falcon.....

and for most roles the f14 was replaced by the f/a 18 hornet... but the f14 wasn't very useful for fleet defense without the pheonix anti-ship weapons system anyway which was retired at the same time.

... sorry... military nut here...

it may have been a typo on your part, but stuff like that drives me batty

There are cars that are astehticly pleasing to me..I like old-fashioned VWs and silly little Chevy Vegas....antique cars that are painted without any gloss......

but I am not a driver...and um...not really into cars..
