You want your hearing to be sensitive. That's how it works. If your hearing becomes insensitive, you've got a problem. If your hearing is sensitive, then the sensitivity will prompt you to avoid prolonged exposure to loud sound, thereby keeping it that way!

Hearing damage leads to more hearing damage because sound levels that were once uncomfortable are no longer so, even while further damage is being done.

I got sensitive hearing, when i was born to the age of 4 i was deaf because every time someone said somthing i herd i very high pitch tune just a long "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! !!" when they said like "hello" and i still have problems i can't go up hills or go in a plane because you know that soft little wissaling noise from the wind i get loud killing tunes. but the good side is that the doctor even said that i hear louder like i use to be able to here u crunching a biscut far away but now it not that bad/good.
