I'm not trying to start some political rumor, but sometimes I wonder about John McCain having AS. Maybe it's PTSD or both. He is known as having a temper. He insisted the stage at the Republican National Convention be suddenly converted to accomodate his town hall style speaking format. It makes me wonder.

No.

No evidence whatsoever. In fact, in general, most w/ AS do not show 'temper tantrums, as you related. Plus, that's no indication at all.
So what about the 'accommodations?' Most everyone has personal preferences.

I very much doubt it. Politics just doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would appeal to an Aspie. Besides, Asperger's is an aggregate of symptoms, not one just one or two-- not everyone with a quirk is an aspie.

Besides, I don't think a virulent stinker like McCain could be Aspie. :P

Not to put people who are senile down, but he seems more like a senile old codger, he's to old to be
running for president, he'll be chasing foreign dignitary's off the White House lawn with his cane.
I like Sarah Palin, but only because she's a hot GMILF

His body language is awkward because he was badly injured in a plane crash, and his bones weren't set properly while a POW. He can't raise his arms above his head, that's why he always waves sticking his arm out in front of him.

To be honest a lot of politicians don't seem exactly "normal," there is just something kind of weird and stiff about many of them. I don't think it's Asperger's though.

Pretty soon people will be speculating that Hilary Clinton is somewhere on the spectrum and that Ronald Reagan had Aspergers...

How would you be able to tell? His character is an act just telling the American people what they want to hear. It's scary because he is so persuasive and witty. I have a friend who served in the war who says if he ever met John McCain he'd punch him in the face.

Some great politicians are speculated to have been Aspies. There's one (French?) who has her own blog. We're just the negative ones who sit around complaining how bad it is.

What? Sorry but I don't see it at all. As a matter of fact he seems like a snarky little bully to me.

John Mccain had Ron Paul banned from the RNC and Ron Paul had his own convention going on in MN.

If you watch the old debates, both John Mccain and Mitt Romney both looked like snarky bullies glaring at Ron Paul. It's rumored Ron Paul may have aspergers but don't know about that one either.

If John had aspergers, he would be treated like this.

If John McCain is an aspie, then George Bush has good intentions.

No. Not at all. There is no way in HELL or in any other place that that asshat has AS. I'm tired of people saying random idiots have AS. There is no proof of this, and NO evidence.

No, McCain doesn't seem a little bit Aspie, but he definitely seems a whole lot something else that starts with an "AS-" and ends with an "-HOLE".

Politics is all based on lies and empty promises... a perfect NT system. Of course an aspie wouldn't enjoy politics. If there was a system of government that was based on the qualifications of leading rather than politics, aspies could probably make great governmental leaders due to presence of original thought, objective evaluation of a situation, and not thinking of themselves first and foremost. I'm not saying that everything would be harmonious, but at least our disagreements would be forthrightly argued out rather than played through behind the scenes in a shady game...

Unfortunately, since there is no nation that is comprised of mostly aspies, we won't be seeing the demise of the NT political system anywhere anytime soon...

nah, the reason he isn't showing much emotion is that after all the botox they're pumping into his face to keep him looking younger than Methusalah he can't do much more than blink now.
