I've been wondering how many of us have artistic skills? I'm an ex-professional jeweler (and a damn good one due to my attention to detail and focus), but it almost seems counter intuitive to me that this would be normal though.

So who else has any artistic drive, skills, or an outlet?

I think that you will find many creative aspies and artists on this site.

You might find this link on the subject of Right brain dominance and autism of interest.

I have some degree of creativity in music and, to a lesser extent, in photography and writing.

I do a lot of writing (although it has come to my attention while studying Scandinavian Literature that I lack the skill to correctly interpret a lot of novels and plays, especially the ones from XIX century :p)

photography is another one I'm pretty decent at.

am have been complimented often on the art am do,and have a similar ability style to Stephen Wiltshire with being able to draw from seeing it in own mind-rather than having to constantly relook, but am no way near his level, can only process small bits of the picture in head at a time, otherwise am get overloaded.
am use the wall in bedroom as a canvas [it takes staff attention away from all the hb damage],and any painting and drawing tools can get hands on.
it's only animals am draw.

i'm interested in photography: http://henrythehippo.deviantart.com/ colors fascinate me and i can pretty much find beauty in anything, i.e. a few days ago i was intrigued by the colors in some bird poop on a car windowshield. it looked like a majestic angel fish to me :fish:. my brother thought it still looked like bird crap when i explained the beauty of it to him.

I am a professional wildlife artist. I have things in galleries in my area. Several stores are selling my cards and bookmarks with my art on it. I also sell t shirts and other items. Already I have some pieces worth over $1,000 but for a small commission drawing it is only $125. If you would like to see my art, go to www.crittersonthings.com I even got to meet one of the worlds most famous artists named Wyland. he is the one that does the murals on the walls of dolphins and whales around the world. He said that some of my art is better than his! My best ones are my wildlife scenes so if you go to my website, look at those first. Then marine life and the big cats.

Is there any way we could see some of your pictures? I'm really interested.

I just checked it out. I've got to say, great stuff, my favorite is your pieces under 'hallucinogenic art,' especially "PACHACAMAQ", as well as the digitals.

I have been told I have artistic talent, but art is a grueling task for me. I am too focused on detail and perfection. The entire process makes my head hurt and when I look at the finished product; all I can do is to pick at what I see to be imperfections. I had to give it up long ago.
