Tom Cruise kicked out of Scientology

Quote:
Posted by Michael Bilde at 25 September 2008, 11:28 PM and is filed under Entertainment
Actor Tom Cruise has been told to leave Scientology, a spokesman for the religious organization confirmed Friday.

"Mr. Cruise is no longer welcome in our family. We feel that his erratic behavior might jeopardize our outstanding public reputation," a Scientology spokesman said.

Cruise is said to be "devastated" by the decision. But when asked about the situation outside a leg-lengthening clinic in Los Angeles early Friday, he seemed upbeat.

"Katie and I have already joined the Raelian Movement. We couldn't be happier," he said.

Sources say the movement was unsure whether to welcome the Cruises or not, but in the end found they would probably not do too much harm.

I dunno about this... looks like a hoax... The leader of the Raelian movement is denying this...

I always got confused about being 'kicked out' of a religion. Your beliefs can't be 'taken' away from you, isn't that what religion is? A system of beliefs? Not a club!

As long as Tom believes in Scientology, then he will always be a Scientologist, same as if a Christan dosn't have a peice of paper in a church with their name on it.... as long as they believe in one god and Jesus, then the're still a Christian.

yeah but he definately doesn't do them any favours by being the "face" of that sect/religious movement. I wouldn't be suprised if they secretly wanted him out anyway...

I don't see why they would want Tom out, he's rich. Scientology won't give you the next level of their knowledge unless you give them money.

Can you imagine if Moses gave us the first commandment but said we had to give him money in order to hear the other 9?

I think that the reference to his being interviewed outside a "leg-lengthening clinic" gives it away rather!

ah.. scientology is just another faction of Illuminati.. many actors are a part of it. Psychopaths make good actors..

Its a spoof website - you'll notice there is an asterisk right after "news you can trust"

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see the asterisk means "For those two percent who don't get it: This is a spoof news website."

Oh for Christ's sake come on! That's an obvious one! Anything that mentions $cientology in the same breath as "outstanding public reputation" is really obviously taking the piss.

yeah but if they are all about the money they should take care of their image better. I don't believe that Tom Cruise could appeal to anyone but teenage girls (with really bad taste), that's crappy PR if you ask me.

Good old scientology - Its so worth paying all that money for some BS tale about aliens and evil galactic overlords etc. Why would anyone believe a sci-fi religion made up by a sci-fi author?

In my humble and very nuanced opinion I'd say....

Tom Cruise and Scientology both really suck.

Hmmm yeah he was way out there!

Gripping about his girl on ibuprophen but possibly getting leg extensions-oh me gosh what a hypocrite!

The raelians are a tad over the top for my sexual conservatism-but looks like they'll make a fine fit for toms agoraphobia :-)

All happy a bright world!

It said outside a leg lengthening clinic, which to my knowledge no such thing exists, so I'm pretty sure it's fake...

EDIT: Hmm.... after googling it, apparantly there are such things. Now I wonder if there's a leg shortening clinic, I've always hated being so tall......
