no girlie names please!

my head is spinning......all I can think of are names like:

Oswald = Ozzy.....hubby doesn't like Ozzy Osborne
William - reminds us of William Wallace.....yikes....(except for the freedom part)...cool...
but....no cool enough!!

Travis.....reminds me of all of the travesties I've witnessed over 52 years.

Larry...ryhmes with harry.....fairy.....and scary....(no offense to those who are called larry)...p.s. sorry about your luck..

Brandon.....but aparently it might be too plain....but maybe not....although....it reminds me of a certain Brandon....from my dark past....

(my daughter has warned that it may not be a good idea to 'diss these names...,.however - I believe that it won't be interpreted as a diss.....only it will be understood as a miss...

not to be confused with "amiss"....since everything is okay!!

(I think) :duh:

how about Ryan?....or does that sound too much like "o.....r....i...an's belt.....thus - way out there....(in the stars)....

names.....???

any suggestions???

or do all the Ozzy's, Tavis's, Larry's, Brandon's and Ryan's (grrrrrrr....me) to much?

Griffin is good....
(I like that it starts with grrrr....means he won't take any shi**t....

daugher.....likes that he could be grin....as in "smiley", "happy".....and "fin".....as in not finished yet....and/or fin.....as in a fishes fin.....ability to swim.....as opposed to sink....(G...forbid!!)

some groups have rules for what the name is (usually skips a generation). I'd check for rhyming with bad connotations, famous people, etc.

There's any number of web sites for names. I knew a guy once who suggested 'brick' and 'z12' for his kids (in high school). Think about looking him up some day to see if he went through with it..;)

I think I may regret starting this thread: starting a thread "su**cks....especially when I realize that I am now responsible for it.....and all of the stupid things I've written in a fit of ??????

anyway....

this thread will probably die ....

but if it doesn't...

(I have three months to come up with a 8) name.....to suggest to my daughter...

but if....the thread dies....

whewww!! !

I have managed to get away from myself and my thoughtless thread-starting-crazyness...

(and that will be a relief)..............no responsibility

but it will also be: depressing.....cause of rejection

but then again.....

if this thread dies...
I can go back to silent....non-thread-commitment-ness....

which is where I'm most comfortable...

except when I crave attention, rapport, connection, friendship and love....

(which only happens when I'm at the peak of insanity....)

He might have the problem of people constantly mispronouncing his name.

Don't know about that - all the Irish guys I know named Seamus are fantastic musicians, very attractive, and nobody mocks them or gets their name wrong. If I had a son, that would be his name, for sure.

so - no to Alexander.....sorry :(

What about a celtic name - something really unique which means something nice too.
Both my children have celtic first names (which I didn't include in this list) :D

Here are some...

Anwell - The beloved, dear one.
Drystan - The noisy one. (this will probably become true)
Dunham - A dark man.
Kearney - warrior
Lann - sword.
Vortigern - A great king.
Weylin - The son of the wolf (depends what you think of your son-in-law) :D
