After spending ages trying to find work in my town, I got a call today from the director of a theater a few streets down from my house offering me a job as a sound technician! I'd interviewed to be a grunt-worker back in September, but didn't get so much as a call back. Apparently now they're shorthanded. It's lame to be a last resort and I'm going to be so sick of the play version of A Christmas Story in a month, but hey, I'M EMPLOYED! (Plus, the pay is spectacular :D )

I found it funny how the director told me that the job would put a crimp on my social life. I wonder if I should take that statement the same way 30-year-old women take being carded.

That's the one. I'm getting almost as good as the actors now in reeling off "an official Red Ryder carbine-action two-hundred-shot range model air rifle with a compass and this thing which tells time... built... right... into... the stock!" Urgh. And my calculator tells me I'm going to hear "You'll take your eye out, kid!" a hundred and ninety-two more times before the run of the show ends. 8O

Thanks for the comments, all.
