This is an unusual subject but I'm curious to see how many others have experienced this. I have very vivid dreams but not very often am I "myself" in my dreams. It's like an episode of Quantum Leap, each time, I am someone else. I have been male and female, young, old and different races with no real reason for being someone else, as the dream doesn't dwell on who I am but rather what is happening. I have also been legless and one time I was blind. I have also just been an observer in my dream (sort of like, the narrator) but I have never been another species, such as an animal. I do have a dream (occasionally) where I am able to fly. Do any of you have dreams in which you are another person?

I sometimes dream that I am much younger or much older than I am really.
I sometimes dream that I am pregnant. Had those dreams ever since I was 6 years old. A real nightmare. :D

That's about another Fiddler, but not really about another person. I don't think I have ever dreamt I was someone else.

One time I was looking down at what I somehow knew was myself like I was watching a tv, and in I was a girl the same age as me, with longer, strait light brown hair and maybe freckles. I think just about everytime I dream, I look different.

I always have nightmares when I dream - I've never had a positive dream . . .

A related thing, though, is that whenever I remember something I remember it like I was watching it on TV - I have no memories where they are in the first person - I see myself standing in the situation, if that makes sence . . . Temple Grandin describes something very similar in her books . . .

I'm always myself in my dreams. If you like dreams I more than recommend watching "Waking Life". It's out on video. I had a nightmare type dream last night / this morning. I woke up punching the wall and screaming and all I could remember was my dad talking to me in my dream. kinda worrying...I've still got cuts on my knuckles from the wallpaper.

I pretty much always dream as myself and have observed myself a couple of times in dreams. I have turned into a werewolf in my dreams, though.

I've dreamed about being a Blues hockey player scoring the OT winning goal to give the Blues their first ever cup :P

I don't usually have dreams; but, when I do, I'm almost always myself, although I might acting differently than I would in real life.

My dreams are distirbirbing. My mind fabricates them in such a fasion that they are utterly beliveable.

I'm always myself in my dreams, but a more outgoing and self-assured version of me.

I am always myself. Sometimes I have a different body, physical identity, abilities, or sex; but inside, I am myself. This does not seem odd to me since I do not think of 'myself' in terms of my body. The body is only a shell or poorly fitting glove that happens to support (or hinder) me.

My dreams rarely make sense. They usually involve me and people I know, like my family or classmates. I am myself in my dreams, but sometimes I switch to this bizzare third-person view where I see myself doing things...

Who I am in my dreams depends in what mood I'm in as I'm falling asleep. If I'm in a very good mood, I dream that I'm Austin Powers. If I'm in a normal mood, I'm myself in a dream. If I'm feeling let down, I dream that it's my Past Life in London and that I'm a jolly little Pearly King. If I'm depressed and feeling unloved by the world, I dream that it's the Summer of Love and I give and take all the love that I need. If I'm angry, I'm either a Witch or a Ghost in my dream. If I'm a Ghost, I go around haunting all of the people who did me wrong in my Past.
