Cosplayers personally offend me.

They dress up as these amazing anime characters who save the world...but kill someone, and they faint straight away.

They lack the mentality and the prescense to carry it off. It's like watching a little boy dressing up in his fathers clothes. Pathetic.

I mean, really. Have some pride, people! Mock them, laugh at them! Don't join them and look like someone dunked your hair in molasses!

I loathe the Naruto anime. Evangelion is mid-way. Fanfics really are so much better.

Note to self: Take folded titanium wakizashi to next convention and watch people piss themselves.

judging an entire group without knowing them, I was hoping only NTs did that.... please don't do it

I like naruto, bleach, death note.
well i like all animes but I've got to say, Yu Yu Hakusho has got to be my favorite lol

If I was judged by the people I hung around in high school I would be emo/jock/prep/skater/goth/redneck WOW what a combination I was a buff skating cutter with black hair thats scared of knives wearing hollister and abercrombie shirts and wrangler jeans....... not really but I think you get the point.

Oh and if you are wondering, I don't talk to anyone about anime and I didn't even know naruto or bleach was that popular. I had watched yu yu hakusho on tv and looked for manga. I found OneManga.com and just ran down the list. Since absolutely nobody in my school even began talking about anime ...... actually they never began but yeah. Instead of hating something because everyone else likes it why dont you try it out yourself THEN hate or like it.

Also if the story hasnt finished you dont know if you hate it completely :)

I'd first like to point out the blunt nerd and geek bashing, I'm a self proclaimed nerd and "That's no Gewd!"

I personally do not like parings that would make no sense in the real anime regardless of gender.

Cosplay is ok in my opinion as long as you can tell the person is still human underneath it.

This topic is really starting to bash people.

Ya, that's all I've got to say.

I wouldn't bash the cosplayers. Cosplay is supposed to be fun, it doesn't matter if you don't look or act exactly like the character. If they're already making an attempt to look like their favorite character, then they obviously already love the anime it's from.
It's not something to be taken that seriously.

But some cosplays can be a bit lazy, come on just wearing blue pants and or a white sweat shirt should not constitute as a cosplay as L. I have never cosplayed as I have never realy been to any of those cultural events, but I do enjoy looking at some of the fan made stuff on the internet, like Renji's Zabimaru.

Addressing yourself with a suffix is considered weird. Wow, do real fanbois actually do that?
Huh. It's really just another media form. Most anime bore me, though. Occassionally I may watch a mainstream Japanese one, but most of the English stuff isn't worth the time.

Alien, can you actually speak Japanese, as I can, or do you only know a few phrases for now?
Incidentally, most of Ataris sentence was confusing; OTAKUです would be better. I think he was just demonstrating fanbois, maybe.

I like anime a lot but the obsessive fans are ruining it for everyone.

The fan-fics, the yaoi art, and the cosplaying is getting to be a problem.
Some of the more casual fans are forced into the shadows because of this nonsense.

I never really could get into anime except of two movies that originated by the artist who started the trend. Can't remember his name or the movies....

But the rest is kind of bleh...I'm just not real into their illustrations. The two movies this guy made were illustrious but I don't see that much in anime.

Hope no one's offended...

That's just enough to get by as a tourist in Japan; maybe you should consider a working holiday in Japan, if you are under 30 and live in the right country.

Astroboy? Osamu Tezuka is considered the "god of Anime". He did Kimba the White Lion too.

Aside from Sailor Moon, Ghost in the Shell and Hayao Miyazaki films, I totally despise anime because people are allowed to be obsessed with Japanese cartoons but I am not allowed to be obsessed with a particular animal species.

Oh my god it has started. Recently I have started watching Zero no tsukaima, and I will probably finish it off the third season tomorow, well I watched it in subs, as I couldnt find dub, and thought that would be alright to start. Well I stumbled upon the the dub before, and I didnt like it very much, I felt like leaving a lot of comments about everything that I didn't like, and have realised, I have become one those people that insult dubs, I am turning into what I hate. I at first thought that this show was a bit too girly for me, but I have enjoyed it, and not just the heaps of fan service, as I was wondering if I would have continued watching it if I saw only dub. It is not bad for an anime that screams Harry Potter influence, including a secret passage in the girl toilets.
