I live in St. Louis and have only met a couple, and well was in the presence of one. When I was like 7 Barbra Bush came to my Elementary school for our awards day. George was supposed to come, but they sent her instead cause he was at some summit or something. When I was at some Blues games last season I met bernie Federko Blues longtime Center and HOF member and now color man. I was not sitting too far from the broadcast area and just walked up and asked him for his auto. I met him again the second time for a auto before the game and talked to him for a couple minutes. Bernie is one of the nicest people you would ever meet. I was not nervous at all talking to him we talked about goaltending. At work back this past winter at Home Depot former Blues Tony Twist stopped in to buy some paint. he checked out at the register right next to me 8O 8O That made me pretty nervous. If he came in my line it would have shocked the hell outta me. I shook his hand but he was in a hurry to get out and was not very talkative. Still nice though, but more of a tuff guy. I was wondering if you people with Aspergers have met anyone famous or got nervous around them. btw another funny one. When I lived in Florida I went to a cards Spring training game and my mom no knowing who all the players are asked then Cards pitcher Donavon Osbourne and Todd Stottlemyre as they were walking the track before the game if Ozzie Smith was at the game. Thing is this is 1997 the year after he left the game. They just looked up at her with a blank face and said he was retired. I felt so dumb standing next to her. 8O 8O

I sat next to former St. Louis Cardinal Tom Pagnozzi at a Dairy Queen once several years ago. I didn't know because I didn't look at him, and I really don't care much about sports anyway. My dad told me after we left.

In terms of famous people I care about, I've never met such a celebrity in person before.

I met Tim Curry (actor - "Clue" "The Rocky Horror Show" "Muppets Treasure Island) in Halifax Nova Scotia (when I used to live up there). It was in 1997 when he was up there playing a cameo role as "Poet Man" in the TV Series called "Lexx" that was filming there, I was on the way home late one night to catch the last bus after being out with some other people at a Live Action Role Play. I was walking up Duke Street as he was walking down and he asked me how to find the Four Points Sheraton Halifax Hotel and I gave him directions, silly of me he was one of my favorite actors and I wished I would have walked him all the way there even if it meant missing my bus and being home really late. Instead, I gave the directions and went straight to the bus stop to get the bus home. I should have at least gotten his autograph but I figured he didn't want attention drawn to him even at that time of night. I so love his voice though.

I saw George W. Bush from a distance at a rally last Tuesday. His brother, Governor Jeb and Senator candidate Mel Martinez were there as well.

Famous on a local level: A meteorologist at a Boston television stations. I saw him do his noon news report.

When barbra came to my school back in 1990 George was supposed to be there but he was at a summit or some kind of meeting and was unable to be there.

The closest I ever came to meeting someone famous was back in october of 1999 when Leslie Nielsen of "Naked Gun" fame was in my home town preforming in a stage show at a local theater. He stopped into the store I was working in at the time, one shift before mine. A bunch of people got his autograph. One person in my department got a $1 bill autographed.

I got nothing

not only met, but now friends with- Toby Radloff, the "genuine nerd", from MTV, cult horror movies, and the American Splendor film and comic.
Apparently he probably has AS as well, although he hasn't been diagnosed.

I'm so dissapointed: so many people on here have been within egg-throwing distance of dubya and he remains un-egged?

Anyway, the only famous person I can think of is Mackenzie Crook. He plays Gareth in 'The Office' (oh and he's in that stupid Pirates of the Caribbean too). Me and my wife met him in the bar of the Rennaisance Hotel in Prague on our honeymoon last year. He was really nice, and actually came up and talked to us instead of us having to go and talk to him.

Hey now. That's an awful thing to say, just because you don't agree with someone's views. :)

MISH!! ! I was OBSESSED with Tim when I was 15! Oh, you lucky blank, hehe.

I have met Kurt Warner several times since he and my mother attended the same church and I would accompany her at times.

I've also met, but don't remember that I met, Dr. Masters when I was about two years old. He and Dr. Johnson began Masters & Johnson which was big on sex research in the field of psychology.

I've met Clay Aiken before. He was very funny, but I had no idea what to say to him. There was actually a moment when I thought he was done talking to me, so I turned away, and he had to basically get me back into our "conversation".
He's a very nice man.
