Have close friends with AS. Discovered this website a month or so ago, after reading an article. Want to learn and understand more as want to be able to relate to my friends better - they have been making all the adjustments to match my personality - I feel very bad now, as one of them explicitly told me years ago about having AS and one implictly told me about it - I was none the wiser (not in a bad way - I just couldn't relate to it hence couldn't fully understand). Thanks goodness there is such a great website as WP. Very informative and I love people's attitude here, everyone is so helpful and kind - thanks all, hope you don't mind me hanging around, just wanting to learn and relate better.

Why can't all people be as accepting as you are? If there were a majority of people like you, highschool wouldn't have been nearly as frustrating for me.

I highly respect you wishing to understand your friends. When I'd mention it to my friends, they'd basicly say, "Whatever, dude! Just keep that side over there." Your initiative in coming here speaks volumes of how you value your friends.

Hi Jwa and welcome to the wrongplanet. It's wonderful that you are wanting to learn about your friends and be better able to relate to them. I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was an adult. Since it's very tough for most of us with autism to socialize well, it's great to have neurotypical people like you make an effort to understand us. Your friends are indeed lucky. Enjoy the site.

Yes would be great to chat and learn! In time I will post more specific questions, just trying to understand the correct behavior online first. Makes sense? Everybody is so friendly which is great!

P.S. Do excuse if my manner seems strange, as I am not that skilled at the online communication. I write as if I am chatting in real life and I think it can cause confusion.
