Ah YES!! !

From Rocky Horror Picture Show/Shock Treatment
to Dr. Horrible's Sing a Long Blog
and Repo: The Genetic Opera.

And of course Jesus Christ Superstar and The Who's Tommy.

Or RENT and Beyond The Universe.

I LOVE a good Musical!! !!

I've been to more musicals than I have been to sporting events!

I like them, yes.

The most recent one I've seen is Rent. I think it was pretty good, yet I still not sure :)

West Side Story is my absolute favorite. A few years back, it bordered on obsession for me. I could probably watch it a few more times and memorize the whole thing, if I wasn't already having a good time playing music.

Cool clips, I LOVE Queen!

I was a ventacello (little wind) in Amadeus, I was silent though, but did have a cool period costume.

Ahhh happy days.

I love The Sound Of Music. Julie Andrews was a hottie. I'd really like to see a version where the females have Austrian accents though.

1. Carousel
2. West Side Story
3. Oklahoma!
4. South Pacific

I don't follow new musicals any more, but I have a big collection of Broadway shows and movie musicals from the 40's, 50's, and 60's on my iPod. Obviously I am a big fan of Rodgers & Hammerstein :D

I just don't get musicals.

So the characters are in the middle of a scene, in the middle of a conversation, and all of a sudden they just burst into song?

It just doesn't make sense, does not compute. It's totally illogical and stupid to me. Wrong.

yeah, they're not realistic, like those movie shoot-out scenes where the bad guy shoots 100 bullets at the good guy without hitting him, then the good guy pops up and takes one shot at the bad guy and hits him right in the heart

Most entertainment requires you to stretch reality. Different forms require different stretches, that's all.

Given the reason you dislike musicals, you must really hate operas! :lmao:

People don't go to the theatre to see real life. ;] Disney cartoons must drive you insane too then.

In this case, "hate" should be interpreted "I'm so envious of you." :D

Yeah, but those are kind of realistically unrealistic, if you get my drift. Good guys and bad guys are set up against one other as a plot device, and the bullets fly. I don't see what purpose is served by the singing in musicals.

Yeah, sure do. And as for Peking Opera... omg! take me out and shoot me now! That's like listening to nails scraping down a blackboard. I challenge anyone to genuine like or appreciate that.
