It has to do with anime because of the fact that it is... well, an anime. :scratch:

Sailor Moon is the name of the main heroin, I think the term sailor stands for female soldier or something like that.

The word Sailor represents their costumes, which are based off of the Japanese schoolgirl uniforms, called "Sera (Sailor) Fukus (Suits or Dresses)," and those are based off of sailor's uniforms.
