I think he'll be a good president. Better than Bush, anyway, but that's not saying much.

The US version of Tony Blair. Be very afraid!

Todays presidents dont make decisions IMO, they sign bits of paper & make speeches. Other people write the speeches & 'advise' them which bits of paper to sign. The role of the president is to act as a salesman, or when things go awry a scapegoat.

Image

I am opposed to war-mongering, GM food, erosion of civil liberties etc. Which is why i think this puppet is especially bad news - far more dangerous than a 'conservative' frontman ilke Bush. When bush was fronting the show, 'he' would have faced huge opposition implementing these changes, probably struggled to get the public to accept, for instance another war. Obama only needs apply 'his' meaningless (but very clever!) rhetoric of 'change' 'believe' & worst of all 'hope' & they can achieve all those things and more, almost unopposed.

Look at the skeletons in his past
look at the type of people financing him (eg. slum landlords - so much for working class african american 'change') why would they finance him?
most significantly, look at the people hes appointed as advisors, secretaries etc. They have form - that tells you what to expect from this administration.

The tragedy is when even people start to wake up & realised they've been conned, theyll probably vote him in again, simply because their scared the opposition will be worse. This is what kept Tony Blair in for three terms.

Theres a lot of detail here, i dont necessarily agree with it 100% but the general gist is IMO solid.

That image did nothing to help your credibility.

EDIT: Website is a bunch of conspiracy theory that manages to do an awful lot of denouncement without even /trying/ to prove any exaggerated claims they make. Hilariously, the ads about foot pads allowing you to detoxify the natural way seem like a small inlet of sanity on that page.

My thoughts: He's extra popular because he's black and he's the first black president of the United States. So what? What has the colour of his skin got to do with anything? I don't care if he's green with pink spots, as long as he would make a good president.

Well, I think it's positive (it's good that African Americans have someone who isn't a gangsta, athlete, or rapper as a role model, I guess), but I am rather irked at the shear number of people who are supposedly adults who seem to see nothing else here whatsoever.

I'm just glad Bush is gone and no I didn't vote him for the color of his skin.

However it is a historical moment given that all the presidents these years have been white men. It'll be another historical moment if the president happens to be female given that she isn't voted just because of her gender.

obama is half white. why doesn't anyone mention that. they just mention he's an african american, a term that obama doesn't even like being used to refer to him. he prefers being called an american

africans don't like african americans. they call african americans, "white man." it's true. actually it's not, but i have heard an african guy refer to african americans as "white people." i have also heard african americans that demand they be called that rather than black, call obama an "uncle tom" because apparently he not black enough and educated.

My thoughts on Obama, eh? Well, my opinion on Obama is that I would like him as a regular person, but not as the President of the United States. I am NOT being racist (I get that all the time), I just oppose a few of his ideas. I don't 100% approve of him, but I don't 100% oppose him either. I would rather have McCain, or better yet, Ron Paul.

I like him as a candidate-now-president first and foremost, regardless of skin color or foreign name that twists the panties of the far-right. I agree with most of his voting record, most of his platform, most of his actions so far (most = not all. There's a lot he's done/is doing that I'm rather pissed off about). But given the alternative ...

And for the first time in a long time, I didn't feel like I was voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I felt like I was voting for someone truly competent, who will surround himself with competent people and not just yes-men.

All that said, the fact that he's black with a foreign name that twists the panties of the far right ... that's just a really amusing bonus.

He certainly knows how to give a good speech, I'll say that much for him. And he is surrounding himself with competent advisers and administrators who will hopefully help him to do a reasonably good job in office. And anything is an improvement after 8 years of Bush.

Why is it such a big f*****g deal that we have a black guy as President? To make that the defining aspect of Obama's political identity is immature and racist. Why not emphasize the fact that he was a Harvard-educated lawyer and a professor in constitutional law? Those, to me at least, are more impressive than any ethnic or racial identity.
