Do you have any retro video gaming stores where you live?

Where I live, the only places you buy that kind of stuff is at flea markets, thrift store, and yard sales.

What do you mean by "retro gaming"?

Pre-GameStation/XBox?

Pre-Internet?

Pre-Computer?

Pre-"Dungeons & Dragons"?

Pre-Television?

The Goodwill Store on Fairview and Fifth sometimes has some worthwhile titles.

I live by one that runs a small franchise, & I love them. I've always wanted to open up a small videogame-resell/video arcade...

We have flea markets, yard sales...I got a whole lot of games from Goodwill, but now it seems like they don't get any =/

We have a place called Video Game Exchange, but I don't go there very often because they usually give "crappy" games high prices (on the plus side, great games sometimes have decent prices). Game Hits is a bit better, they must use some sort of pricing guide (though Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt is like $10 there for some reason)...and I like them because they seperate all the crappy sports games from the actually good games =)

There's this new place, I don't remember what it's called, Play and Trade maybe? Went there once, they've got some pretty nice prices, but I didn't have any money to buy anything.

You know, if you have a wii and get the wiicards, they have a bunch of really retro (some of them are before NES I think) games you can buy. It's really cool!

EB Games (I think it's called Gamestop now) used to sell old N64 and Gameboy titles and stuff a couple years ago, but I think the're gone now.

Also, Gamecrazy had some old Genesis games when I looked in there before, but I don't go there very often.

We have a few other video game stores, I'm not sure how much retro stuff they sell though.

When I lived in Arkansas, they had a place that sold NES, SNES, Atari, Mega Drive, Genesis, Neo Geo, Playstation( when Playstation one was new). You could buy old consoles and games. I wish they had a place like that here in central PA.

Well the different stores and its conection to retro would be: "Cash Converters" which sells and buys used items being a good place to get games from the different generations. Another would one I have seen called "Game traders" but not in the state I am in, which has a realy good colection feeling a bit like a museum, with some things like Virtue boy on display, and large oletion of gameboy games. Apart from that maybe "EB" or "Game" might have a bit of second hand games.

Question: Does the Wii's Virtual console count?

No ;)

It's pretty close, but it's definitely not the same as the real thing...especially trying to play Genesis games without a real Genesis six-button controller...hands down my favorite gamepad ever.

And I hate that they don't have a Classic Controller that plugs into the GameCube port...not only does that mean you can't use it for GC games (which would be REALLY nice), but it means you have to waste batteries with a Wiimote dangling off your controller, sitting in your lap or something.

They did. They called it "Gamecube Controller".

Have you tried using the d-pad on the Cube controller? :x I don't think they actually tested it on games when they designed it, just sort of put it there in case you needed extra buttons to switch through an inventory or something uncommon like that.
