Sometimes, I just like the way things feel, for instance, I have 10 strings of marti gras beads in my hand right now, and I love the way they feel. I like the way velvet feels, and I like the way satin feels.

However, I also HATE the feel of some certain textures (and sounds, for that matter) Grinding textures and somethings that feel slimey, I just can't stand.

So, I want you all to write 1 or 2 textures that you like, and 1 or 2 textures that you hate

Satin
Cotton

Dislikes:
Nails on a chalkboard (the feeling, not the sound)
Doll hair

Don't like rough paper, greasy stuff (kind of a texture, I guess), dusty things, dirt, dusty sand, sand mixed with dirt, dirty feet, frosted glass, glitter, the sound of sandpaper, certain types of fabric, cheap plastic (like the new Wiimotes vs. the launch run, or the stuff they make cordless phones out of)...not sure what else...there's a lot of them...

Not sure what I do like, though...glass and...does water count?

Dislikes: denim. Haven't touched the stuff since I was old enough and moneyed enough to buy my own clothes

Like:

carved wood
fingernail ridges

Dislike:

lake bottoms
any soft fabric that makes people go "Oooh, feel this!"

When your feet sink into riverbanks and the sticks and leaves and..whatever else is in there pokes at your ankles


and I like the fabrics that make people go ooo! feel this!!

When the metal of a pencil scrapes the paper
itchy tags on shirts.

The feeling of anything on a chalkboard is the worst of all time, writing on one with chalk literally sends a shock through my entire body. There are other textures I don't like, but nothing even remotely close to that.

ones that are good:

a woman's skin/hair
cat fur
marijuana buds
guitar strings
cold glass w/ condensation

Like:
paper
mucus (I used to hate hate hate this - I refused to blow my nose or anything, but I'm over that now and I love it)
bark, especially on silver birches or fruit trees
various fabrics
mud
shaving foam

Dislike:
chalk and charcoal
actually, that's it for dislikes. I'm a real sensory seeker when it comes to textures.

I like;
~ the feel of uncoated wood
~ bark
~ a fresh and soft towel
~ and yeah, grass under my bare feet is heaven
~ a cooling breeze on my skin on a hot day
~ soft skin of a woman (how do they do that always?)


Dislike;
~ newspaper paper
~ doorknob at public toilets (but that's different, I suppose)
~ unnatural fabric in general and labels in clothes
~ elastic fabric in socks and underwear

Floating. Anywhere, like a lake or a pool or a bay. Especially in a hottub.
