most of you who came on here and may want to share your experience are aware that this is not an easy day to day challenge to deal with having two of these at the same time. i am living with both diagnoses, but for having both of them i am faring pretty well, and things aren't quite so unusual considering i wasn't diagnosed with bipolar too late in life. i am nineteen and have maybe just a few friends, if any. considering a circle of friends would be null for me as of now, but most wouldn't be surprised had they gotten to know me. Whenever i feel as though i'm doing impulsive things i may want to blame my bipolar but sometimes Asperger's and not taking cues of any kind very well may also bar me from making conscious decisions.
at the moment of typing this i will admit i am quite preoccupied with other things and i have to apologize for that but i also got this topic going on as a thread to get going for people with this not so oft-occuring condition, as this is a quite interesting one to have, as serious and concerning as it can be.

so feel free to be as candid as you want about how you feel having both Asperger's and bipolar, or if you know someone that is driving you absolutely crazy with their condition as somebody you live with or is the love of your life or a friend of yours or anyone you know with both these conditions, also feel free to contribute. and pardon my constant run-ons, they're a vice of mine that is hallmark in my writing, silly silly me. :? anyhow, thanks for reading and contribute if you can.

first of all it is spelled asperger, but that is not really important as long as we understand what you mean

im just wondering if you ever heard about co-morbid condition, that just mean having more than one diagnosis, and from what i know about asperger, and from asking my psychologist, asperger is known to have most of the time co-morbid conditions, and you are extremely lucky to have only one, i dont want tyo disminish your condition, i just want you to be aware that by saying asperger, a lot of conditions can be included; myself i got about 15 diferent ones, up to now, the doctors dont even understand how i can get trought one day ...

here is a quick list:

asperger, OCD, bipolar, general anxiety disorder, alexithymia, dyislexia dysgraphia, odine's curse, alcoholism, agoraphobia, ptsd, adhd, casein intolerance, mild celiac disease, depression, panic disorder, Intermittent explosive disorder, horror vacuii, hypergraphia...

and i could add a couple more, all that to say, most of them i dont notice, for me its normal to check the door 50 times before leaving the house, when i get tired of it, i just leave it unlocked all the time, the trick to live with a co-morbid condition, is to accept it as part of us, we are just different, and the important thing is to come to a point where we love ourselves the way we are, only problem is most people dont like people like me, but hey, someday i will meet someone that can apreciate me the way i am.

just work on finding strenght in the way you are, for example, i use my extremely high level of anxiety and i focus it into my work that way i "burn" out all the anxiety, and i feel better hard to do at first, but once you get the hang of it you get a lot of power from it.

have fun and good luck
