If so, where can I find videos of aspie comedians? (FYI: Not everything's on YouTube, you know.)

I NEED TO LEARN FROM HIM! WHERE CAN I FIND HIS COMEDY VIDEOS???

If we can be funny, I had better learn how! I believe I can learn how to be funny-on-demand after all.

There's a comedian, doesn't like to be interviewed, has quite a quirky stand-up routine, he's from the north of England, he's previously played Edinburgh Festival, and done gigs in Australia... I can't think of his name... begins with a D (I think)...

He's not described anywhere as Aspie in publicity stuff or interviews or his website, but having seen and read a bit about him, I did wonder. This is just a guess on my part though.

I also wonder about Eddie Izzard, again nothing official to indicate it, but having watched his routines and read interviews and about him, I do think there's a possibility he might be Aspie, but again that's just a guess.

Dying is easy. Comedy is hard. Comedy as an Aspie is even harder (though being unintentionally funny is a piece of cake.)

Isn't that the truth! Every time I try to make a joke, people don't find it funny. On the other hand, sometimes I will be in the middle of talking or I'll say something that I think is serious and the other person will start laughing. I've even had therapists do that to me.

I think most comedians ARE aspie. (humor, especially warped humor - is an aspie hallmark).

Here are some I've heard are aspie:

Dan Ackroyd (mentioned)
Jerry Seinfeld
Robin Williams

Sasha Baron Cohen comes from a family of Asperger researchers! I can only assume he has a touch of aspie. (How else could he have done the stuff in Borat!)

Ben Franklin - not a comedian but he could have been

I've met Robin Williams and he's very awkward making small talk and being around "strangers".

You have to be extremely clever and perceptive to make people laugh. Especially in the big leagues. You also have to be a little shameless. My husband is always amazed at my shamelessness - in other words - I have a high threshold for embarrassment. I betcha the following are somewhat aspie:

Jon Stewart
Stephen Colbert
Tina Fey
Chris Farley
Lewis Black

(I guess fake news comedians are especially good jobs for aspies! You get to do a lot of research AND make it funny!)

Well I can get some good laughs at times, I mostly keep a standback look at things and every so often I come up with things that get everyone laughing, though usualy to do with situation. One of the most awkward things is when I try to be funny and I get almost no reaction so I instinctivly repeat myself and come off flat, but I guess that forcing usualy doesnt work. I tend to be sarcastic in most situations and if a question is asked at times in a conversation I try to be different such as giving answers that are obviously false, and just mostly observing and adding a bit of personality into things.

Maybe you guys haven't met the right friends or co-workers yet. ALso - many "suspected" aspie comedians write their jokes ahead - like Tina Fey, Stewart, Colbert and Seinfeld. I think they'd would be very uncomfortable without a script. Not that they can't be funny in interviews - but even those are slightly prepared. But they spend most of their time observing, researching and writing.

When they are brainstorming as part of a team, they are usually with other odd-ducks.

But I still think it depends on who you're hanging out with. I work in engineering and mapping so I work with a lot of odd ducks, indeed! I wouldn't have it any other way.

Therapists!! !! ! OMG! I can't stand going to therapists!! ! Do any aspies actually find it therapeutic?

I'm doing Stand-Up comedy, and I'm likely AS or PDD-NOS. I've only just started last November doing open mics, but the response has been awesome.

Here is a set I did. Just audio though... so you can't see my mannerisms. But I think it comes through in my voice, that I'm not quite 'normal'.

I think of funny material, and clever observations... so I just write it down and try to work in a punch line. It's not instantaneous, you have to work at writing jokes and refining them.

I still need work on not mumbling over my words, but it's getting better with practice. And I don't get so nervous going up on stage.

My favorite comedians are Mitch Hedberg, Emo Philips and Steven Wright... who are probably not AS... but don't seem to be social butterflies either.

Yes, Stephen Wright is the one I thought of. I have no idea if he's AS, but his delivery is. Here's some samples. You may recognize them from various circulated e-mails where he is often uncredited:
