This is just a random question. How many of you have ever lost yourselves in thought?

Happens to me all the time. My thoughts are more like dreams....in that they shift formlessly. I start out thinking about what horses eat and end up studying Roman warfare, for example.

I also day dream a lot. Oh yes, happy happy happy day dreams .... :D :D

I really not sure if I've found myself.......I'm usually off somewhere else all the time.
I'm so private and reclusive, I'm not sure if I'm aware of myself if/when I do show up. :?

Almost all the time. My mind is contantly racing. I also seem to stare at random people when I'm thinking - I think I freaked someone out in orchestra the other day because I 'came to' and they were looking at me with an expression of shock - oops ... I also find that quite often when I'm staring into space, when I 'come to' I find that there's at least one person staring at me. I know they're staring at *me* because when I look at them they tend to look quickly away. It's embarrassing, especially when I 'come to' just when I realise we're about to play, and I have no idea where we're actually playing from ...

it's only really really bad though when I'm doing something with music or drawing/painting or learning a language. then sometimes 4 or 5 hours will pass before someone interrupts me.

“Never his mind on where he is, what he is doing…”

Yoda summed it up nicely.

I rarely am thinking about what I should be thinking about at the time, so I relish the times when I can focus. I'm always drifting in and out, often not noticing things going on around me. This freaks people out sometimes, as sometimes others assume I am paying attention to the same thing they are but I'm not.

It just looks like I am.

I don't think I can even describe how many times I've been lost in thought. It seems like a daily occurance.

I confess, I am frequently to be found lost in thought.

Yes, frequently. I think my record for lost-in-thougthness was about an hour and 45 minutes. Just staring out the window, contemplating.

I enjoy just sitting and thinking. Until I have a good idea and need to write it down or do something about it.

I usually do that when I'm home by myself.
