A shy hello

Hi everyone. I've already posted a bit in the Women's Forum and other places, but I thought I might make a proper introduction of myself as well. My name is Leah, I'm 19 years old, diagnosed at age 14 with Asperger Syndrome (overturned the old diagnosis of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and I'm very interested in interacting with other Aspies, I feel we're very special people that have strength in numbers, and if I could find people who relate to me in ways neurotypical friends can't, I would be very pleased.

On another note, thank you to the admins for making this forum very aesthetically pleasing and easy to read, it is a convenience for me not to have to sift through inaccessible messageboard styles.

Hi Bluestocking and welcome to the WP. I was diagnosed with Asperger's as an adult, but always knew I was different. The WP is a great place to communicate with others like us. I hope you enjoy the WP.

Hi, nice you introduced yourself. I might wouldnt have noticed you are a newbie if not. There is so many many people here and it can be hard to keep track on everybody around. I hope you like beeing here, feeling comfortable and relaxed in your post and what you share. Enjoy your stay!

Hi Leah! I'm here for similar reasons (wanting to meet people with a similar approach to mine). It seems like it can be too easy to jump to a diagnosis of something else before AS, especially since we tend toward the shy side and might not reveal everything necessary to properly gauge it.
