I would like to get a new user name.

How can I get one?

You can't, it's not allowed. Trust me, others have begged to change usernames to no avail.

If that is your legal name and you have privacy concerns, it *might* be possible to get an exception, but I highly doubt it. You could simply register under a new name (but not say openly that you are doing so) and if the mods know that you are doing so for privacy reasons, they might let it slide. Again, long shot.

*Disclaimer: I am not a mod, and can not/do not speak for them or for Alex. Unless one of them tells you otherwise, getting a new user name is explicitly against WP rules and, to my knowledge, has never been permitted yet.

Totally off topic ... well, not TOTALLY, but not really relevant, either ...

I've sometimes posted at a forum where it is ridiculously easy to get as many screen names as you want, and that has created quite a few problems. But at the holidays everyone has learned to have a blast with it. My regular screen name there, as everywhere, is the same as here: DW_a_mom. But during the holidays, there, I become DW_a_momma_clause.

Silly, but fun.

Yeah, I am TOTALLY avoiding what I really really REALLY need to do today.
