I'm lactose intolerant, and I think I also have an egg allergy. I've never tried the gluten/casein diet, I just dring special milk with an enzyme added to it that converts the lactose into a different type of sugar that is more digestible. I also take some little pills that help dairy to digest at mealtimes. There's nothing much I can do about the egg allergy.

I am planning to try a probiotic supplement. Theoretically, this could help if the reason for your diarrhea is because you don't have the beneficial bacteria that you need in your intestine for proper digestion. I don't know if that is true in my case, but it can't hurt to try. You might look into it for yourself.

I have that problem because I had my colon removed back in august 2008, due to slow transit constipation for many years. My colon died and stopped working and I had to have it out. I also suffer from many intolerances like lactose, wheat, gluten, msg, and other foods. Even avoiding these foods, I get it if I eat and/or drink hot liquids, very liquid-like foods, and other reasons.
Other than that, that is my problem with it and it can be a pain because I also have bowel incontinence, where I can only feel and/or hold it if I have firmed stools(sorry about the description).

How long ago did you stop eating gluten?

My son is coeliac. It took me a stupidly long time, ( considering that I am gluten-intolerant ), to realise that the increasing, and fairly chronic diarrheoa that he suffered from for about 10 months from 1 to 2 years of age, was because of gluten.

But even when we cut out wheat and other sources of gluten it took another whole year for his gut to recover, and for totally "normal" intestinal activity to re-establish itself. And even then it would still re-occur if he ate anything slightly "irritating" to the gut, eg. red grape juice, or fatty foods.

It might take quite a long time, several months to a year or more, ( especially if you also suffer from a candida problem ), for the diarrheoa to fully stop. As someone said yoghurt and/or probiotics should eventually help with that.

Another possibility, ( that I imagine you would have already checked if this has been going on for years ), is a bacterial gastro-intestinal infection, and/or parasites etc?

Otherwise perhaps you are seriously intolerant to something else completely, like potatoes, corn, soya, the mustard and cabbage etc family, spices/pepper, citrus fruit, etc. Have you tried fasting on vegetables and veg juice, like carrot, or plain rice, lentils, and green salad, for a week to see if it that helps? Have you considered/tried organic foods; perhaps you are allergic to artificial pesticide and fertiliser residues.

Good luck. It sounds grim. Carrot juice is good for diarrheoa, as are charcoal-tablets simply to slow things down.
