does anyone else get paranoid about this?! :lol:

i have killed-off a grand total of 16 threads* during my time on WP- although, a few of them were ones that i started, so that alleviates the guilt a little bit.

* make that 17, if no one replies to this!

ROFL, I haven't kept an exact count or anything, but I feel like I have 'killed off' a number of threads... maybe 5-7 or so?

EDIT: Wait, I did a search... I think the count is closer to 20 actually 8O :oops: :lol: :lol:

By killing off, do you mean you were the last one to post, you were so exited about what you wrote waiting for replies , then came none?

You have killed just 16?

i have to assume i have killed 40, in the past month.

You shouldn't feel bad, it is an honor :wink:
Tell yourself what i tell myself;
Yeah i covered that one so perfect so complete, there must be nothing left to say.

the thing i find confusing, is, after about a week someone digs it off the 3rd page and replies;
"ya Jackass"
what do they mean by that?
did they mean

(Ya) Yeah, go, you did it, you carried the load for everbody?

I have killed off more threads than I can shake a stick at (more than 40 plus for sure)

I prefer to think that i composed such a masterful and complete treatise, that there was nothing valuable left for anyone else to say.

edit: really have to start reading threads properly before posting :roll:

...not exactly. most of the ones that i have killed-off are where i have said words to the effect of "yes... i agree" so it is my own fault for being boring, really. perhaps i should start quoting david irving to increase the shock-factor a bit.

What if several of us work together to shake that stick?

I used to, but then I realised: if no-one killed of threads, we'd soon be drowning in the wretched things, with less and less time and room for new ones.

Nah. Threads have a natural lifespan, greater or shorter. Some mutate by drift, others spawn offspring. Unless there is a real "thread killer" out there, who never gets a reply after posting, it's nothing to worry about.

Under other circumstances, "having the last word" on a matter would confer a little kudos! <Well, he's/she's said it, really.>

unless... fellow skim-readers and ADHD-ers also paragraph-jump the same spots and end up giving me SB2's credit.

In which case i might make a habit of it :wink:

Psych,

Go ahead, stalk me.

Amidst my rambligs i offer up some gems (odds of probability).

Plus i could use someone to clean up my muse.
And i give you my ok to claim the credit.

new theme;

i wasn't insecure before but i am now. obviously what this means is that, two people saw my name as the author and skipped it completely. And it was short too.

hecate stated,

Which leads to emettman's claim that some threads produce offspring;

Does any body get a paternal/maternal instinct about some of their own threads. Sometimes i think that a certain thread is kinda like a child of mine. i see them work their way down to the bottom of the forst page, and i begin to develope 'empty nest syndrome'. I don't want them to leave.
So i reply to them and bring them back to life. Some threads are dear to me, i admit my guilt. But i cannot bear to see them go

its not so bad :) only one person (me) skipped, and im skipping all over the place today anyway.

Would love to stalk you full-time, but with a prolific ppd-count 5X greater than mine (we signed up on the same day) i simply dont have the stamina!

Sometimes i get to a thread late & do a long thoughtful post, replete with quotations, coding and research. And i just KNOW everyones left it for dead.

Well, i didnt put in all that work just to be ignored, so ill write down the 'no of views' and check back at regular intervals to make sure the b****ds read it! :P If i dont get an acceptable increase in the viewing ratio after 2 days then its bump time!

Ok, so far I've found 8 threads that I killed. I'm too lazy to do a more thorough (sp?) search though. I bet some of the threads we killed could be brough back to life if we go back to them and add more stuff...even if it's just "I killed this thread. Mwahahahaha!" Ok, maybe I need to go back to sleep...
