Here are some links to some of the songs/snippets I've made. I tried to select ones that represented what styles I tend towards when I make music.

Prototype - http://www.buzzmusic.de/index.php?id=5&action=details&songid=5317
Lost - http://www.buzzmusic.de/index.php?id=5&action=details&songid=1840
Always Too Much - http://www.buzzmusic.de/index.php?id=5&action=details&songid=4049
They Hunt Vampires in Texas - http://www.buzzmusic.de/index.php?id=5&action=details&songid=4571

I've been thinking about trying to make a release, for a long time. I get discouraged on various counts, but mostly because I don't think my music is that good. Anyway, let me know what you think if you give any of them a listen.

I go through cycles in music creation, for a couple of months I will make a good deal of songs, then for a few monthes will have dry spells where I'm just not in the mood. When it does hit though, I will sit for hours listening to a short loop on repeat tweaking different things, adding subtracting, etc, until something comes out of it. When I get in a stage like that I forget to eat, neglect sleep, and all that fun stuff. I don't know, it's almost like a trance and I'm not here, I'm in some place that exists yet doesn't and I'm not really myself. Odd, eh?

I like what your doing, they hunt vampires in Texas is just synths right? Because there was a comment that said it was guitar...

Yeah, They Hunt Vampires is just soft synths through effects chains trying to make it sound as close as possible to a real guitar as I could.

Well, it sounds better if you ask me, I just love my synths (not that I own any but I love messing around with the colleges Cubase).

How long does it take for you to write a song out of interest?

General, unless I go back to something, the most I'll work on something is about ten hours, if that. I have a bad habit of working for a while on a song and then just never going back to it.

So ten hours straight? Thats probably where I'm going wrong with my songs...

Yeah, with the occasional bathroom break/etc if I think about it.

Everyone works differently though, people have different styles of working. This just happens to be the way I tend to work. It's most likely not the best way.

Loved em ! !

Some quality work here. Love some of the effects you used, especially on Always Too Much.

I really liked the Vampires one!

The others sounded good, but a bit too gloomy for my taste...

Not familiar with the song.

Jonny, AbominalSnoCone: Thanks, I'm glad you liked them.

AbominalSnoCone: That's odd. Normally I think my songs are gloomy but people tell me they are happy. Then I stare at them, lol.

That "Prototype" is off the "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" album. Since you don't know the album, I'm sure you don't know the song.

But, I'm willing to give your music a chance anyway.

I hope I enjoy it.
