Okay, boys and girls. I wanna learn to do the turtle. I will need to do a lot of push ups, sit ups and wrist stretches for this. I would love if someone set out on this challenge with me. We could post our progress as weeks go by.

So who's in?

Whoa dude not me! That is out of control.

That would take some ridiculous core strength, I'm in reasonably good shape but that would take probably a year of concentrated back, leg and ass muscle lifting and hundreds of sit-ups a day.

Count me in!

Now, Push ups use a 70/30 weight distribution.
So doing a turtle for me would be equivalent to doing
pushups with 50 Kg extra.
Given I am 20 Kg overweight, Some of that would have to be lost

Suggested calisthenics

Push Ups
Squats
Chin Ups
Plank holding

lol i got it, for exactly 5.87 second's in the air on my own, thats somewhat of an acheivement considering i havent worked out in like a year

I don't know how to follow that weight distrobution formula to work for me but if it helps i weigh aprroximantly: 214 Pounds

However i have excellent balance in general so that might play some role: 49.8 Left Foot % 50.2 Right Foot

plus my arms are about 2 Inch's longer than my torso :)

PS: It hurt like Hell when i did it

I looked at that pic and had to try it, and I fell flat on my face

Okay, so if you can do the turtle, I want to see you do it like the second guy in the video, who does it one handed

Eeep! It's going to take a lot of whole milk for me to build bones and muscles strong enough to do that.

I would join you Learning2Survive, but I'm way overweight right now. This is one break dancing move I could actually have the potential to do (if I lost weight), I can't do many others because I'm 6'6".

Pushups would be no help to me. I do pushups often and have plenty of arm strength for the turtle, I'm just lacking (by far) the necessary core strength. That said, I am in fact doing push up sets right now

I can sit cross legged and lift myself with my finger tips, as well as do 2 finger pushups. Im 122 pounds. Ill see if I can get a picture for ya :).

I tried that turtle thing and I failed...:( Its really hard. Harder than it looked, to me. Im already trying to build up my strength, so this is something ill defenatly look forward to doing. Count me in.

Ah, so thats why I failed. I defenatly have the arm strength, but its the core strength im lacking. I was confused on why I couldnt do it, but couldnt quite point out what I was missing.
